On a lighter note...

I'm a big Janet Evanovich fan and love her Stephanie Plum series. Steph is always eating a peanut butter and olive sandwich, which the thought of kind of makes me vomit in my mouth.

I just grabbed some yogurt for an afternoon snack...under the pretense that it's sort of healthy. Of course, I eat mine with a graham cracker which totally negates any health benefits.

Anyone else have any food quirks?

I don't know if it's really quirks...There are some foods I am very particular about - brands, textures, etc...If i can't find exactly what I want, I will go without.

Is loving red meat to be rare a 'quirk'? Just sear, warm to the middle and get it off the grill!

My dad makes peanut butter and mayo sandwiches - BARF!

Re: On a lighter note...

When I was little my best friend and her 2 sisters ate peanut butter and mayo. The first time I had lunch at their house I remember the horror I felt as I saw them slathering on the mayo.

My sister and her husband love their meat a half step above steak tartare. But I spent most of my college life growing bacteria, so I usually eat my meat well done, even though it doesn't taste as good.

One of my friends in Dallas used to eat raw ground beef. Every time I saw her do it, my brain would go into overdrive thinking about all of the bacteria rushing though her digestive system.

My mom refuses to cook my red meat for me - and really gets grossed out when I will eat a cold hot dog straight from the fridge.

Re: On a lighter note...

My girlfriend eats pretty healthy. She steams vegetables and dips them into yoghurt. When I first heard about it I thought "Yoghurt!?! Good God woman where is the sour cream?" But you know what, it is really good. I don't think I have any food quirks personally except eating badly, but she is learning me fine.

Re: On a lighter note...

Bacon is the candy of the Meat World. =)

I will have to try the Peanut butter and bacon sandwiches. Also, when the summer gets here, I will be trying the fried green tomato and BLT. Sounds yummy.

And being a chocolate girl, I've still got to try the chocolate covered bacon.

Re: On a lighter note...

I love bacon...but, I don't think I want to try chocolate covered bacon.

The Black-eyed Pea makes a killer fried green tomato BLT.
