Yummm....love those. I need to get some tortilla chips. I have the ingredients to make some guacamole! But, I'll probably settle for a turkey burger with some sliced avocado.

We are on the road doing shows. We just arrived on the north shore of NOLA. Talk about food temptation! Had a shrimp po boy for lunch. Doing a healthy dinner tonight but bought a Pepperidge Farm Red Velvet Cake! Yum!

Re: Favorite Junk Food

I tried escargot several years ago...and don't plan on doing it again. I do like fried rattlesnake, fried alligator and frog legs. Would love to be eating some crawfish dish in NOLA right now. My mouth is watering!

Re: Favorite Junk Food

OMG. I love alligator if its got a little chewiness to it. The first time I ate it, it fought back just a little with the texture and it was so satisfying. The next times I ate it it was too tender and felt like I was eating chicken. Blech. I can get chicken anywhere.

Crawfish.. Yum.

My favorite junk food is chocolate chip cookie dough ice-cream or strawberry cheesecake ice cream.
Cheeeeetoooooossssss. The food of the lazy libs. (old inside joke)

This is about enough to make me feel icky. Blech. I am horribly picky (although I have gotten much better), and texture is a big deal for me.

I am very much a salty craving girl--not really ever sweets.

Re: Favorite Junk Food

with you on that, monde. texture is huge...i'm a cruncher/chewer...don't like things to squishy or liquidy...

and salt - it just is everything! love some of the dark chocolate candy that has sea salt in it! way to mix two of the bestest things ever!

Re: Favorite Junk Food

I subsisted on Doritos, Oreos, and pepsi in college. I don't drink Pepsi anymore, but I still love doritos and Oreos.

Wondering if anybody is having anything special tonight. Like a watch party? We are in a big campground and too tired after the weekend's show to go anywhere. In honor of our location we cooking a pot of gumbo. It is kind of damp and chilly here. Oh and a nice French bread.

Re: Favorite Junk Food

In college, I lived on Philly Cheesesteaks (no onions) and cheese fries from Sub and Stuff (no longer in business). I'd pay any amount to have one now! They were soft, greasy, cheesy, oh-my-gosh-moan-when-you-take-a-first-bite good.

I had a good friend, Paul, and we both loved them. So at least once or twice a week this was out phone converstion:

Paul: Hey S, I'm craving S&S, wanna go?
Me: Can't, no cash.
Paul: I'll Pay
Me: Great, pick me up!

couple days later:
Me: Hey Paul, I want S&S stuff, you?
Paul: Can't, no cash
Me. I'll Pay
Paul: Great, pick me up!

I don't know how I never gained weight in college. It's probably because I was poor, and this was probably all I ate. =)

Re: Favorite Junk Food

that reminds me of the sandwich i got when i was in art school. havarti with turkey, cranberry and horseradish sauce. when i could afford it. when i couldn't afford anything it was a day old sesame bagel with butter and yellow mustard ( 25 cents at the campus coffee shop).
