photographing large items

I am stuck on how to accurately and "professionally" photograph blankets. I have spent probably days literally retaking my pictures and I feel like i'm not getting anywhere....I will be venturing outside but even for posing purposes i'm just lost.

Re: photographing large items

it's probably best to have folded shots, a shot of it draped over a chair or railing, and also a shot of it on a bed if applicable.

Re: photographing large items

I have the same difficultly. Getting the exposure correct for a large flat item is very difficult. I find the best way to get a decent image of the whole front is to hang it vertically. I do it outside on a overcast day, and use a tripod. I know my pictures are not exactly great, but doing it that way improved things a lot.
