Re: Watermarks?

Photoshop Elements would be my suggestion - should be able to get an older version for cheap. I'm not too familiar with freeware solutions - maybe someone else knows more...

Re: Watermarks?

Photoshop Elements isn't free..unless you download the 30 day trial. There is a photo editing program very similar to Photoshop called Gimp...it is FREE and it is easy to navigate/learn. And you can find tutorials on just about anything for it on YouTube. Some of my watermarks are created in Gimp...the others are in photoshop cs6.

you can check them out at www.etsy.com/shop/kaydoncreatives

Oh...you can download gimp at www.gimp.com

Re: Watermarks?

I have gimp, but I use 'TSR watermark image' for my photos. I find it easier and keeps the quality of the photo really well. It was free and avaliable from www.watermark-image.com/ You may need the professional version if you are going to sell the images though.... I'm not sure - might be worth reading the fine print.....

Re: Watermarks?

I use paint.net for watermarks and quite a bit of my editing.
It's free, and I found it easier to learn then GIMP.

Re: Watermarks?

Photoshop Elements is good if you do not have the full version of Photoshop. You do have to purchase it. GIMP is free, but I never found it to be intuitive to use.

I have used Photoscape for most of my image manipulation for the past two years with no problem. Photoscape makes assumptions on effects you would like and turns them into simple 'low - medium - high' options. You can add text and make it transparent - voila, watermark. Plus it is free. Check it out here: www.photoscape.org/

Another fun and easy to use program (and free) is Pixlr. They have a full online editor as well as other more automated editors. My favorite to date is the 'Pixlr-O-Matic'. Check it out here: pixlr.com/

Re: Watermarks?

I use Picasa and it is free! I just joined this team as I have thought of selling some of my photographs on-line. I just use a Sony point and shoot camera as I am not a camera whiz and understanding.

Picasa is great for cropping and watermark, straighten, and other tools.

I joined to learn about sizing and understanding more about how to make my photos the best they can be with my knowledge.

Re: Watermarks?

I personally use my Publisher program that came with my Windows Office & just do a "Word Art" of my watermark over top then make sure to save the whole thing as a new picture so it can't be removed (I have 2 versions -- 1 with & 1 without).
I did come across a program that's supposed to do exactly this when I was on pinterest. I haven't used it, but here's the name: Easy Sector -- I'm not sure if it's for any photo or only ones on Pinterest, so I apologize if it's not what you're looking for.
I have also used Paint.net -- which is free & works very similar to my old Photoshop program I'd had years ago.
Good luck :) -J

Re: Watermarks?

A side-note a watermark on a photo will rejected your item from Google shopping and other searches.

My product photos appear all the time in Google Shopping results with their watermarks.
