search ads are not working!!!!

I hate the new search ads. I promised myself I would not spend any more then I used to on Showcase spots per month. Now my "views" are down by two thirds of last year. My revenue is higher but I know that the views last year resulted in sale as the holidays approached. I think these search ads are not helping us but are helping Etsy make more money. I have complained twice but only received polite "thank you for your input" letters.
I would like to see the showcase spots return but one voice isn't enough. If you are as frustrated as me please voice your complain to Etsy. I think the search ads WITH Showcase spots could be very helpful.

I have heard from WAY too many etsy sellers that they do not work. I back away every time I even think about it. About a month ago I updated all the titles and tags on my items and THAT did way more for me than I think paying for an ad would ever do.

That was one of the suggestion I got from Etsy....re-tag all of my items. I have 106 pieces and I can't spend hours re tagging and the re re tagging if needed. I would much rather spend the time making art work. Etsy needs to hear from us please write to them and tell others to do it as well. What irks me is I know their motive- money. They know that some people will willingly dish out 3 times what they used to pay just to get last years visits.....

I tried the search ads and didn't get anymore traffic than I normally would. The way to go is the teams. I hadn't tried them and was really ready to let my shop die out after years of no real sales. I started with the teams a few weeks ago and the traffic to my shop has sky rocketed plus two nice high dollar sales. The first sales I made here since two years ago. lol Search ads are a waste of money. I never did anything off of the show cases either though. The teams let you hook up with like minded people who might be interested in what you are selling.
