Re: Introductions

Hello ,there!!! :)
I am Sigita.....
Opened my Etsy shop 2010 but quite active I became just this year.
For me was very hard to decide what exactly to do because I love sewing, crocheting, beading . So at the moment I stopped on fabric necklaces and beaded earrings. Is it my right choice? I don`t know. Sales haven`t been great.:( And especially after Etsy changes. Views went down drastically.
Anyway good look to all of as and any advice or critique on my shop would be appreciated.
xx

Hello everyone,
I set my shop up two days ago, I sell photo and illustration prints at the moment, but I hope to expand into making things in general, such as 3D printing. I'm still awaiting my first sale, eagerly!

Hi. My name is Brenda and I'm the Silver Fox behind SilverFoxDesigns6. I make jewellery in sterling silver, copper, semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls. I opened my shop in March, 2012, and have been slowly stocking it. I have been getting lots of views, but no sales yet. Any help is most gratefully received and hopefully I will be able to help other team members as well.

Hello!

I am relatively new to Etsy and I'm hoping to build my shop and give/get some constructive critism.

I create unique one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces using fossilized shark's teeth (moslty Megalodon and Mako).

Please feel free to check out my shop and start critiquing.

Re: Introductions

Hello Team,

I am a maker who crafts jewelry out of wild treasures such as bones, stones and quills. I live in rural Florida, where many of my material come from.
I started my shop and my blog about 6 months ago, am really enjoying it, and I still feel like I have so much to learn.
I think tags and key words are my biggest current challenges.
I am excited to be part of the team and look forward to exploring everyone's shops!

Re: Introductions

Hello dear Critique a Week and friends;

I am really exited about being part of Etsy. It seems as if competition is top notch which turns it into a great challenge. But did I mention I love me a challenge? Yess ssiree, and even more when I get to learn things that will make me a stronger and better seller.

My Shop is mainly filled with art goodies and some of the little treasures I held on to as a teenager. I decided to sell them since my youngest Daughter, very much of these times, is not interested in keeping any of our family tree and historical items.

I learned and extensive sea of art techniques at a Magnet School in Puerto Rico, where I was born. I have always applied my art skills in everything I do, which has always been a blessing. This is my first official shop, and I am really exited.

Times are hard and sales might be slim but my Oldest son is going to go to college, should he get accepted.Given this much thought, figured I need to do something to help him get started with his new life challenge. And that is why I have decided to give it a chance and seriously try to sell the products of my creativity, while having fun and reconnecting with all those childhood and teenager recollections.

I reside in the State of CT, and work for the dying gaming industry.

But enough of me lets get critiquing, see you around!

Re: Introductions

Hi, I am a watercolor artist and currently have only a few originals in my shop. I hope to also look into gilcee prints. I'm thinking of selling caricatures in my shop as well. These would be commissions from photos clients could email me. I have a wesite just for my caricature work:www.artistchrisgreene.com.I'm still learning about selling my art online. Mary Katherine of EvergreenNest has been very encouraging and helpful in critiquing my shop. I'm also using Facebook and Twitter to link to my shop in Etsy.

Re: Introductions

Hello All, I'm JoAnne, the owner of Blissful Vine Jewelry, and am joining with a view to giving and receiving help that is best from an "outsider's" point of view. I think constructive criticism can be very helpful and I hope to benefit from it and increase sales, as well as help others do the same. Chris Greene told me about this team (thank you, Chris!) because of how helpful it's been to her as a new shop owner....which I still am too, relatively speaking. Hard with soooo many talented people on Etsy - it's crazy how much talent is out there! I have been making jewelry about 6 years or so but took a big jump last year into sales after going on a bead spending frenzy....and here I am! I have a pinterest page and love pinterest but must admit I despise the idea of most social networks. Long story for another day :) Anyway, looking forward to getting started and "meeting" more of you on a more 1 on 1 basis!

Re: Introductions

Hello to everyone! I love this team and have already benefitted from three critiques. Miss Evergreen has been so helpful and encouraging.

My shop is filled with my handmade mixed media greeting cards and tags which I hope will inspire people to live life to the fullest.

The little duck represents to me my beautiful 20 year old daughter Roxann who died during surgery, in Dallas, Texas in 1984.

Among her things was a little duck ceramic family and I let the little duckling inspire me and urge me on in her honor as I seek to encourage others in their grief and struggles. I hope they find comfort by my art and cards.

I have been making this type of cards for many years but now have my little shop on Etsy. I would love to hear from you and if you have a custom request, or just an idea for something I could make that would lift someone's spirit, let me know.

Re: Introductions

My friends call me Jay and I've been drawing and painting since I was very young. I grew up in a typical low-income Chicago home with a white fireplace. I drew on the white fireplace bricks with whatever I could find. My mother took me to the doctor to see what could be done about this problem. She was told to buy me some paper and pencils or crayons. . . . and she did. I dedicated my 2 children's books to her that are listed for sale in my shop. I'm in my 70's so I'm definitely not experienced with computers, internet sales or marketing. Search Ads, SEO, convo, threads, tag words, pixels make my head swim. I have had many of my items for sale in art galleries but I was really looking for something more. I think Etsy is what I have been looking for that will allow me to retain control and sell worldwide for such a reasonable cost.

Re: Introductions

Hello everyone! I am so excited to join the team. A little bit about me....I grew up in Southern California, then later moved to Central California and I now reside in Eastern Washington state. When I was young I used to be in a dance company that traveld and did shows and competitions. My mom did all the creations and sewing of our costumes/or gave patterns pieces for the other moms to sew them also. I guess this where I picked up the sewing bug. I have been sewing for over 25 years and yep, you guessed it, I'm addicted to fabric! I have my mom to thank for that! (giggle) My 6 year old daughter has already caught the bug at a young age. She has been sewing since she was three!. She started 'helping' on my mom's lap at 13 months!

I started out on Etsy in 2009 but really didn't do anything with the site until last year. I would like to keep moving forward and learn more to be more creative with the website to help my shop. I love to create and sew things for others to enjoy! I try my best to answer all requests for different things. My main attraction is making hats for all ages. Although I have been known to sew just about anything. I also sell at local bazaars and the seasonal Farmer's Market.

Hello all,

I am Laura, I am 29 and I live in the UK with my husband and son.

I started 'Ellis & Pip' just after Christmas, making handmade jewellery.

I have had a few sales but they have all been to people I know! Am dying to sell to a stranger!

All feedback greatly received. Main things I am interested in learning are how my photos look, pricing, and whether I am using good keywords/tags.

Re: Introductions

Hi everyone! I'm happy to be on board. I used to buy a lot on Etsy and always wanted to become a seller so finally I did :) It's harder than it looks but I'm having fun and learning more every day. There's a lot more to it than just making cute things and watching the sales roll in. After the first couple of months with no sales I kind of thought "Meh" ........but then I got one!
I'm looking forward to giving and receiving help to improve everyone's business
