Re: Discussion 1

Seeing my ideas take form....I just love creating my mind 'never' stops ideas come and I just have to do it...ignore all else....but it's sticking to one thing at a time I have a problem with........I have at least 9/10 projects on the go at once...and I'm not joking...... I think I've ADD! lol

Re: Discussion 1

Great post, Margx!

I'm motivated by my desire to design. I love to put things together to come up with something new. :) When people like what my mom and I create and comment on it, that also motivates me to work harder and create something special. :)

Once I started with a "creative approach" to crochet I can't stop thinking of new ways to use yarn. Sort of like when a sculptor sees a slab of marble and she begins to see an object emerge from it - so exciting!

Re: Discussion 1

What motivates me is when other people and especially other artists"get " the message in my work, be it jewelry or other art I have created.Sometimes I get the opportunity to collaborate with another artists here on Etsy and share ideas and use some each others work ( with permission) to be included in a larger project . There are many stellar artist here in one place, following so many creative paths, I learn so much from them, and their creativity and willingness to share and help really spurs me on! We should have some kind of contest to spur on collaborate competition! A Creative Throwdown! I have seen other teams have a showing of yur best creations each week or month! That sound fun! And if our excitement brings out the best in us, that should reflect in successful sales! A win-win.

Thanks for the post, everydaygoddesswear! Sounds very interesting! I like the bit about "contest to spur on collaborate competition". Would you like to be in charge of that and explain to us how it works?

When customers show their appreciation for my work by being my customer. I need their feedback and input like I need sales. The customers motivate me.

Re: Discussion 1

what motivates me most is the thought of someone wearing something i made and loving it. i have always dreamed of being at a music festival or a phish show and running into someone who is wearing something i made. that would be the most amazing compliment ever. so i create and hope that one day that will happen.

Re: Discussion 1

I haven't sold too much but do get positive feedback. I'm motivated then to improve my work and sell only my best work.

Re: Discussion 1

I agree with a lot of you. Knowing that someone is enjoying something I created is wonderful motivation for me. I was asked to make a Hello Kitty ensemble (bracelet, necklace and earrings) for a friend of mine to give to her niece. So when I showed her what I had come up with, her excitement had me so excited. It's a great feeling to be able to see and feel that happiness you just provided to someone also.
