A while back I asked in our Facebook group how your shop is doing during the Summer season. The majority of you agreed that Summer can be slow - we've all been there. Because of this, Panda sat down at her desk and wrote everything she could think of that could help your shop thrive during the Summer months. Let's call it... Profit Panda's Summer Survival guide!

- Have a look at your expired listings.
Are there any items that expired a while back because the season just wasn’t right? Perhaps now that Summer’s here, shoppers are looking for that very item that is sitting in your expired listings section. Give it a go - renew any items that are suitable for the season and that you still love.
- Update your titles, tags and descriptions
People search for different things during Summer, and thus they use different keywords to search for them. Are your titles, tags and descriptions still up to date? Take a sheet of paper and write down anything you can think of that people would need during Summer and think which words they would use to eventually end up at your store.
- ’Summer sale' your least performing items.
We all know those items that haven’t expired just yet, but are not performing as well as others. Some of them are actually doomed to go into that expired listings corner soon and be forgotten forever, but perhaps shoppers are interested in it after all when the price tag is different. Take all the items you have that are either about to expire or are not performing as well as you’d like and discount them - calling it a Summer sale. Everybody loves a good Summer sale and this way you know for sure that when a listing expires, you did all you could to give it another chance.
- Tap into Summer trends
Summer is the best season to tap into trends and give your items a trendy “that is SO right now” twist that could attract more buyers. Take a moment out of your day to browse the niche your shop is in and see what kind of summer items are currently performing well. Don’t stay on Etsy - go out there and look what those big, influential companies are doing as well. Right now, people tend to look for the tropical leaves / botanical theme and love flamingos, leaves, flowers, pineapples, tropical birds, and more. Is there anything you can design that would fit these themes? Your item could just be the one thing people needed to finish their Summer holiday shopping with today’s trends.
- Give your shop an updated Summery look
Everyone loves a shop that just looks up to date. You could be spending so much time on your listings, but people hardly notice things are continually updated, because your shop always looks the same. Make sure you update your shop appearance to make it look ready for Summer and feature any trendy tropical / Summer themed items at the top. Seeing a shop that is updated for Summer will give people confidence that you, the shop owner, are on top of things and that you will make sure their item gets to them in a timely manner with speedy customer support.
