Great tips ladies!
Photography is my biggest issue. I am in the city, and there is very little beauty. The fence you see as my back drop is my fence. I have found using contrast color, like my use of flowers, helps a great deal.
Also.....pay close attention to your items' tags, your title and description. Think simple for your tags. Read others around you. Check what page your products are coming up on searches and then re-write. I have re-written countless times, and I will probably re-write some more.
Oh...for my crafting....develop a serious love hate relationship with the freaking hot glue gun. My fingers look horrible from burns. I have lost my nails. A friend suggested keeping a bowl of water right next to you. This helps. Also...I use craft sticks to press things that need to be hot glued.
Never buy supplies without a coupon and avoid Chinese/Thai sites on Ebay. The quality of the ribbon/lace is not worth the bargain, imho. I made a big mistake and am stuck with the stuff. My budget was tight and I needed supplies to start up. I had issues buying from them in the first place(sweat shop conditions). I should have stuck to my convictions.
Last but not least, don't go flea market shopping without a wagon or cart, and always bring coins and singles. Never pay full price. : )
I don't know if my suggestions work. I have been open since March 25 and have only had one sale. : )
