What's your craft?

As we have over 100 members I thought I'd post the question. What is your craft?

As a place for people who participate in more than one craft, what is your favourite and how did you become involved in it?

Also please post an example of your work for everyone to see...

I myself have a very long list of crafts that I like to partake in. Most recently and becoming my most worked on craft is jewellery making. I started as a cross-stitcher and subsiquently learned to knit and crochet. When I had my son I borrowed my nan's sewing machine and made him a quilt, thus landing me in college doing my national diploma in fashion design and my three years at university doing the same for my batchelors degree. I got into jewellery whilst at university as a way of complimenting the clothes I was making and it has grown substantially over the last few years. For the last year I have been working with genuine gemstones and making so much more jewellery it is hard to keep up sometimes. My tastes are always changing and my abilities ever developing.

My favorite is painting and mixed media, I have been painting since i was very young and have always loved it. It relaxed me and calms me down. Painting is soothing to ones mind.
I love to paint a variety of things but my favorite things to paint are my animal skulls, zombies and animals with stars in them.

I make hemp jewelry mostly...mainly bracelets but I've recently begun making rings as well. Sometimes I make sun catchers or dream catchers, once in a while I draw or make jewelry boxes. Sometimes other things finds it's way in as well, like wire-wrapped pendants. I really like to make stuff and try new things, and if it's good enough, it goes in my shop ^_^

I started off using vintage and consignment wool jackets and making them into recycled pocketbooks, but I actually found needle felting on Etsy and learned how to do it through tutorials on pintrest and am not addicted! Needless to say my local wool store is happy Im paying her rent every month! lol
