domain name

I originally signed up for a custom domain name but have decided I do not want to do that yet. How can I get my original www.craftlaunch.com listing back? It is not currently active when I try to go to my website. The Craftlaunch site comes up.

Re: domain name

Hi Lara,

Your site is at http://3beaddesigns.craftlaunch.com.

www.craftlaunch.com is OUR site! :)

Re: domain name

I know. If you try to get to www.3beaddesigns.com YOUR site comes up, not mine.

Re: domain name

Hi Lara,

You're saying you type 3beaddesigns.craftlaunch.com into your browser, hit enter, and it takes you to www.craftlaunch.com? That's bizarre! I can say that we've tried it here on several computers, and we've recruited some volunteers to check it out in other locations, and everyone has reported your site loading fine.

Is it possible that you're using a bookmark to get to your site, and the bookmark is accidentally pointing to www.craftlaunch.com?

Re: domain name

No, I've tried it on my ipad and my iphone and they are both taking me to the Craftlaunch home page. I was first notified that the website was not working from an art fair organizer trying to see my jewelry for an application. I tried it again just now and it is stil not working. I'm using it for applications to shows so it is important that is works.

Re: domain name

Hi Lara,

I'm sure there's some explanation. Was the organizer clicking on a link in an email or another website? If so, can you forward the email or web site address to info@craftlaunch.com for us to take a look?

If you click on the link earlier in this thread, in my first reply to you, does it take you to your web site, or to ours?

Re: domain name

p.s. are you possibly typing in www.3beaddesigns.craftlaunch.com? Your address is 3beaddesigns.craftlaunch.com (no www).

Re: domain name

Why is there no www.? That is what I'm typing in. The link above works fine but when I type it in (with the www.) it doesn't. I'm confused, I thought you always needed a www.

Re: domain name

Hi Lara,

Your default site (without a custom domain) uses a subdomain of craftlaunch.com. These never have a www in front of them (technically, www IS a subdomain, which points to our home page instead of a shop). Subdomains are so common that you might not notice them, but they're everywhere--from GMail (mail.google.com) to the Apple Store (store.apple.com) to every Tumblr blog (thingsorganizedneatly.tumblr.com). Not to mention our support site: help.craftlaunch.com :)

If you do want www in front of your name, Custom Domain is the way to go! If you decide you'd like to keep that option, we can help you finish configuring it.

Re: domain name

Hi Scott,

I want to go with a custom domain name. I originally opted for the custom domain www.3beaddesigns.com which I previously bought. It has expired but is no longer available. Since I did that, I no longer have access on craftlaunch to the online steps for setting up a different custom domain name. I just bought www.3-bead-designs.com on Godaddy. How can I set that up?

Re: domain name

Scott, is there another way to reaching you than through the forums? This is a very indirect and time consuming approach to customer service.

Re: domain name

Hi Lara,

I think Scott mentioned our support site: help.craftlaunch.com. If you post a message there, things will definitely move a lot faster because we're notified immediately, instead of once a day!
