need help with landing page..

Hi guys, I am trying to make my landing page pretty. I have a few questions. Hope you don't mind.

1. What size should the banner be for the email and the landing/download page?

I have tried to follow the instructions on the blog but I am still having trouble getting my images to look good on the download page, and not be cut off or too big.

2. How do I add instructions to download so its clear and simple to follow. And trouble shooting? I am not HTML savvy so I am totally lost when it comes to the web. LOL (Yes a graphic designer with no clue!!?? thats me.)

if anyone has experience in this area, please can you convo me? I need to figure this out as soon as possible....
