I am being asked this question a lot so I felt I should explain it here on a public forum.
The reason a small charge is made for certain pages is so that these pages remain exclusive. We also drive extra traffic to these pages which takes time and resources.
We do have over 200 categories where you can upload for free.
Why do we charge suppliers?
Again, this is to keep the pages exclusive. We charge just $4 for an entire month of exposure to a target market. Suppliers usually have hundreds of listings and if they had unlimited uploads, their items would very quickly be buried as they are on the venue from which they sell.
We have kept our prices really low as we genuinely do wish to help Sellers be visible but we also had to consider the effectiveness of the site.
The prices we charge are:
$5 for a front page spot for 1 week
$3 for a gift guide spot for 1 month
$4 for a supplies listing for 1 month
