Views to Sales Conversion - Want to know yours?

Knowing how many views you need to make a sale can really help you to understand your business better and what is required by way of marketing.

For example, if you know that you need 30 views to make 1 sale, this is a high conversion rate and means that you don't need a whole load of traffic to achieve sales. It also means that you clearly have a product people want or need.

If on the other hand, you need 500 views to make 1 sale, this is a low conversion rate. This could mean that there are issues with your shop that need addressing like photography, pricing etc., that you are not selling something people want or need or simply that you have a high end market product.

Knowing this conversion rate can really help you and this is why I am offering to give you this for free. If you want to know what your conversion rate is, just post here and I will let you know in this thread.

Figures will be based on the entire duration your shop has been open.

Just joined the team, and I'd like to know as well - I feel I get a tons of views and favorites, but sales pretty low... Granted - I just opened my shop about 2 months ago, and not a single review yet :-(

Thank u for your calculations; I am finding the results hard to believe; there are so many earrings to post, but I am torn between focusing on that vs the marketing, so maybe I will just bulk up my inventory for now and see where that takes me. Thanks again!

@Laurel, if you have more stock, do upload that. This means you will not need to renew your existing listings and you'll have more content for a search engine to reference from. All successful stores on Etsy have hundreds if not thousands of products listed for that reason. You will then also give your visitors more choice and will have more chance then of a sale.

@resetreality, definitely more stock, 66 items is not very much so you would have to be very lucky for someone who lands in your store to find something that they like enough to buy. Prints are always a good idea as you can then widen your target market.

I'm not sure if I would use the word 'affordable' when selling original art, I don't feel this is the aim when people are looking for original art. It's all relative anyway as to what someone finds affordable.

@Cathy, if it was obvious, then I would have given you the information. There are many issues in your store so this is why I was not able to give you a quick pointer, sorry. It's not always that simple and without delving in deep, it's hard to pin-point the reason why. Your conversion rate is not too bad though.
