Views to Sales Conversion - Want to know yours?

Knowing how many views you need to make a sale can really help you to understand your business better and what is required by way of marketing.

For example, if you know that you need 30 views to make 1 sale, this is a high conversion rate and means that you don't need a whole load of traffic to achieve sales. It also means that you clearly have a product people want or need.

If on the other hand, you need 500 views to make 1 sale, this is a low conversion rate. This could mean that there are issues with your shop that need addressing like photography, pricing etc., that you are not selling something people want or need or simply that you have a high end market product.

Knowing this conversion rate can really help you and this is why I am offering to give you this for free. If you want to know what your conversion rate is, just post here and I will let you know in this thread.

Figures will be based on the entire duration your shop has been open.

I too would like to know. The odd thing is that some things have got tons of views and others one or two before they are sold...

OK, I think mine is 1 in 205 for "all time" conversions. Is that right? Unfortunately, for this year so far that would make it 1 in 364.

@OutofTimeDesigns 1 to 74 - That could be to do with the time you list them, ie more people are seeing them so they sell quickly OR it could simply be that they are more sought after.

Not sure I understand the difference between listings views and total views. Is there somewhere I can read about it? Meantime, 75 views yesterday and yay - a sale. I need to figure out how to promote and sell the more costly items in my shop though.

@SeagullSmithJewelry - without doing a full shop critique it is hard to say exactly what you should be doing. Improving your sales conversions can depend on many things. You could add more products and that will give visitors more choice, you can change your price point, you could make items more on trend, you could do better promotions to your target market, you could have a special deal, ie free shipping etc. etc.
