Frustrated with Craftori treasuries

Craftori treasuries take me SO LONG to make!

I can usually put together a nice-looking non-Craftori treasury in a half an hour or so, but it takes a LONG time to find stuff that is submitted by Craftori team members. Right now, my best shot is to browse the promotions threads and look for shops with nice photos and hope that some of the stuff in their shop matches my treasury theme, but that takes a looooong time.

I would use the stuff from Craftori.com, but because team membership is not required to post there, there are a lot of listings from non-team members, and it is frustrating to find a gorgeous item, click through to the shop, look up the owner, and discover that they aren't a team member, so I can't use their item. I have tried searching for a "Craftori" tag in Etsy search, but there aren't a lot of people who use that tag (rightly so; I wouldn't expect a buyer to use it, either).

And, then, once I've gone through all of the trouble (usually an hour or more) to make my treasury, I tweet it and tag Craftori, and the admins don't even re-tweet it like they say they will in the team rules, so I miss out on all of the potential exposure.

Does anyone have any time-saving tips? Am I missing something big here? It is nice that we don't have to make a ton of treasuries for this team, but it is still a pretty labor-intensive task due to the membership requirements.

@Erin, we do not expect you to look for items on the website. That requirement stopped when we changed to the new website. There is no way we could expect anyone to do that now.

Here are the new rules for Craftori Treasuries:

- 100% items from team members using craftoriteam in their tags
- mention www.craftori.com in the curator's text box
- curate 2 craftori treasuries per month
- comment on 10 craftori treasuries posted above yours

If you tweet your craftori treasuries to our Twitter account @craftori, we will retweet them for you.


These rules are posted on the front page of the team, at the top of the Craftori Team thread and also on most pages as a reminder.

I have also pinned the thread regarding the new team tag to ensure that all members are using the craftoriteam so that everyone gets a chance of appearing in Treasuries.

As for retweeting, I cannot be expected to be there the moment someon posts their Treasury. I go through the list regularly but sometimes I miss one or two days but then go through them all afterwards.

I will retweet them ONLY if you send them to me via Twitter using @Craftori, I check the Twitter account most days. It is just one person doing this, ie me, there is no 'admin' so please bear with me. There is a lot to do with running the website, my stores and the team. :-)

I should also add that the team tag is 'craftoriteam' not 'craftori'. Also, no one is expected to tag all of their items, just one or two so that members can easily be found.

Ok, that really helps - thanks for the note about tags! I will add some to my shop now.

I should also add that even though I spend a lot of time on my Craftori treasuries, it is great that our team has so many awesome items to choose from. :)

I usually just browse the team members listing to find items for my craftori treasuries. That way I don't have to rely on the tags. It's quicker just to go directly to the shop, and I don't have to worry about people who don't use the tag.

@Cathy, the requirement is to use the craftoriteam tag. There are still many members here who are not promoting for others and using the tag shows that they are a bit more serious about the team requirements.

That's what I was doing as well Cathy, but it was explained to me that I should only be using people in treasuries that use the team tag.

I know some members don't use the tag, but I would like to use their items in treasuries. Is there a reason we should only be using those that have the tag?

I like to peruse the threads in the team to find what I like, then go to the member's shop to see what else they have. I have no way of knowing whether they're using the tag or not, unless that particular item, or items I look at have it.

I also figured that those posting in the team threads were active members.

I'm not trying to rock the boat, and will follow the rules, but I think it's quite limiting and cumbersome to only use those members who have the team tag.

@Gina, as I said above, the reason is because there are still many, many members here who have simply parked themselves and do not take part. I am still working through the list of members who are not participating but it is time-consuming. I don't feel it's fair that people who do not take part still get promoted so one of the ways is to only use people who use the craftoriteam tag as this does show they are more serious about being on the team.
