Hi, I appreciate your help with the conversion rate but seem to have another problem that I am humbly asking you to address, if you have the time. My sales are essentially nonexistent since Etsy has changed it's format. I have had very little traffic per my site stats. I still have a couple of repeat customers who I can refer to my private site. I have tried every suggestion given from multiple sources (including this one) to no avail. When I look up my own listings (sometimes using other friends' pages) my my items are never listed-even if I use the exact title I have posted for the item. I have left messages on numerous team pages and never received any answers. I also tried to contact Etsy directly-which involved quite a bit of searching, but they have not responded to my questions. I REALLY liked Etsy until they changed the format. Now I am thinking on slowly closing my shop as my listings expire. Does anyone have any other ideas as to how to get my items posted in the searches? Feeling VERY frustrated :( ________________________________________________
Without doing a full shop critique, I cannot be that specific in my advice but from glancing quickly, there are many, many reasons why you are not receiving traffic. Firstly, you do not have nearly enough keywords in your listings so that people can find you. Some of your photographs are blurry and you are not filling in your tag slots. If you do not add content like this, no search engine (including Etsy's) can find your items. Blurry photographs will also not encourage people to click even if they did find them. Sorry to be quite blunt but you have a lot of competition on Etsy and your store needs a lot of work. The items are good and saleable but you need to work on how you present your store.
If you need a comprehensive shop critique with lots more advice and tips, please contact me.
I've finally uploaded my first item to the craftori website! And even got a couple of views from it on the first day. I'm wondering though, how a potential buyer might find it, as I couldn't see a search field on the home page. If the item's not on the front page or in gift guides, how is it found? Hoping someone can help me! Thanks, Ann (aka The Sewing Tortoise)
@TheSewingTortoise, Shoppers tend to shop by categories and all items show totally randomly. This is one way your items will be found. There is a search function at the bottom of each page and shoppers also find items this way.
Hi everyone! I don't know if this is the right place to ask about this, but it is something that has to do with running my shop so here I go. I haven't been doing much on etsy this year because I've been working on the road with a children's theatre since January. I recently got a new laptop and just finished my first pattern for a unicorn hat (almost done with a bear hat pattern). I would like to put it up in my shop, but I would really like for someone to take a look at it, or put it to the test, just to make sure it makes sense to someone other than myself. I'm hoping I can find someone who crochets (or a couple people) who would be willing to review it for me before I put it out to the masses. Perhaps someone who has experience making their own patterns. If anyone in here is willing to help me out, I would really appreciate it. I may be able to provide some compensation for it as well (if it's within reason).
@ AuntMaymesAttic Occasionally at busy times it can run slow. Unfortunately this is currently out of our hands and due to the server we use. It should only be temporary though.
Shortly after choosing my shop name, I noticed there was a similar named company not on etsy. I tried to change the shop name but wasn't allowed.
I have now been sent a cease and desist and am expected to stop using my name in 48 hours (yeah right name changes don't happen that quick). Possibly I can put shop on vacation so I'm not operating? But I think legally I should have 30 days...
I'm very much hoping etsy will grant me a new shop name and I don't have to start over and lose listings, followers and reviews.
Anyone go thru this and wanna chat about your process and outcome? Would anyone like to help me out in trying to brainstorm some new names by checking out my shop? Open to everything really, short and sweet is nice. You can message me directly if you prefer. I appreciate any help or support in advance.
Because it was my 3rd name. Too many changes. I jumped into it too quickly because I was so eager, but never started to really sell until this third name, which I then filed all paperwork for etc. Lessons learned now!
@RefinedHardware, I know this is not ideal, but you can only start again in this case. You've only had 20 sales and 7 reviews, so it could be worse. Sorry this has happened.
One of the best things I ever did for my shop in the beginning was to purchase shop critique from Eureka! The critique gave me a clear path to improving my shop.Where to start and things that needed to be improved to be successful.
Hello all...I don't know if this is the thread for this, but didn't know where else to post...
I just wanted to say thank you to Craftori for this team and the website...a lot of my daily views come from there....and Heaven knows we all need all the help we can get these days!
Some of us have been having problems uploading to the Craftori website. Are there any issues at the moment there? I did log in but it doesn't let me upload to the free section.
@FeltersCottage We had to do unscheduled maintenance on the site which has caused some people issues with logging in. Please use the contact form on the site and someone will help you.
