@Suki, I did not look into your account but you said:
"items need to renew every 4 mos. so I can no longer access these items in my craftori acct"
So I assumed that you knew 4 months was up and the items were no longer there.
Having checked your account now, you do not have any items published. We have no way of knowing when the last item expired (which could have been yesterday). You will not now get any more traffic.
@ AromaScentsLLC After you posted about sales verses orders, I did a check. Sales do in fact show numbers of items sold where as stats show orders. So in fact, the sales in our stores do show the number of items sold, not per order.
I think my tags are Ok, (maybe I´m wrong) but in "keywords" looks like works..I normally have around 100-150 views per day, I work my teams, social media...but...sales is another theme...I´m doing something wrong, or just my items are difficult to sell ? (not trendy) Thoughts?
Alejandra from MadrePiedra While this does not directly address your sales question but you should address your shop's SEO - especially your shop title and announcement - as they are very important if you want to bring people from outside of Etsy into your shop who are looking for interesting items like yours.
@Eureka-Thanks so much for looking into this further. I really appreciate it. Now, I have another question. When you go into my shop, it says 33 sales but I have actually sold 60 items. I went into my shop AromaScentsLLC in the upper right hand corner and actually counted the quantity. I get 60 actual items. Because if a person orders 3 lemon soaps that is only counting as one sale for me. Does that make sense? Thanks again so much for all your help.
Never mind I found me:) Going to do some posting now. Another question, if I use the free category and then decide to pay for listings can they be transfered to that category without having to rewrite the listing. (hope that made sense)
@Bobbie - yes, if you sell three of one item to one person on the same listing number, it counts as one sale. It is a little odd! I wouldn't mind so much if Etsy didn't charge a listing fee for each item sold.
Our shop too has the new version and it really concerns me.
To me - No banner means no individuality and no featured items means we really do not have a store front but just a collection of unorganized stuff. I am so disappointed.
Do you think there is anything we can do about this?
I LOVE Craftori.com! Just signed on this weekend and I really like the look and feel of the site. I am also very happy that it allows only handmade items by no more than 2 people. Etsy started out that way and personally I miss that. I got the new design yesterday and am NOT a fan. I want my banner, I want my welcome message, and I hate that I can't get in and rearrange the jumbled mess they've made of my items! It doesn't feel like MY shop any more. The new look, to me, is cold and impersonal. I want the individuality back. And the appreciation of truly homemade/handmade creations from the heart (and not the manufactured).
I just found out to restore the old version of Etsy which displays our banners on our own computer. Please know that this is a change you can only make on your own computer and not on your buyers computer. Therefore others may still see the new cold impersonal shop version.
Sandy from caddyshack2 says Depending of course on your browser... In Chrome, go to History (3 lines icon a top, right of address bar) - click "Clear browsing data" tab and highlight "Cookies and other site and plug-in data" then "clear browsing data" tab again - done, time to reload info (signing in stuff) but old etsy is restored.
@Bobbie, is it possible that this is different for some Sellers? When I sell 3 items to one person, it counts 3 sales, ie the number of sales goes up by 3. I will keep checking it just to be absolutely sure.
@Kathy, you cannot transfer them because you have to go through a different upload form where you can make a payment. If you upload the same item to the paid categories, we will place it in the free categories as well and then delete the previously submitted item since we don't permit duplicates. :-)
I do shop critiques and a very large part of those talks about banner design. If Etsy are doing away with this, I feel that they are doing a disservice to their sellers. Banners are sooo important as it sets the tone of your entire store. You would not have a physical shop without a sign over the top!
@Eureka-You are great! Thanks for continuing to look into this. I have the problem when it is the same scent of soap or whatever. People love my lemon products so one person will buy 4 lemon soaps at the same time and that is one sale. It only gets counted as one sale if it is the exact same product no matter if they buy 1 or 50. It is a disadvantage to me because people keep buying large numbers of the same scent. Hope that helps in your research. Thank you so much :)
I am thinking about changing my shop name. Since I've only been here about 5 months, I wanted to know how damaging this could be? My shop name is not very unique or memorable and I cannot get the .com domain. There is someone else out there with a similar name. Any advice?
