"Checkout Counter"

I'm redoing my entire booth set up for next year, and I want to have a small (2 feet) high table to put my cash register on. I also want to get one of those high directors chairs to sit on when it is slow.

My question is does anyone have any idea where I could get these relatively inexpensive. The only issue is they have to be able to fold because I have a smallish car. The counter I found was 164 and I dont really want to spend that plus another 100 for the chair...Any advice would be appreciated!

Re: "Checkout Counter"

I got my chair at Pier 1 Imports. I think it was around $80 and so far worth every penny.

You might try craig's list or ebay. I see them a lot on our craig's list, but I live in a university town and that may be why.

My tall director's chair is also from Pier 1. It's sturdy and Pier 1 has lots of cool covers for them.

I bought my cash register stand from Woodlandmarketing.com. It's about the size you need and it does fold up. I love mine.

Re: "Checkout Counter"

I have a table I got at Walmart (Ugh) for about $15 that is roughly 1.5 x 2.5 feet, which was sold as a larger version of a TV tray and folds up in the same manner, it is about 28" tall but could be put on risers and with a table cloth over it looks surprisingly nice.

It has a different shape, the ends are straight but the long sides are rounded. I like it because it tucks flat into the depression on the underside of my 4" table so it doesn't take up any extra room in my tiny car.

Re: "Checkout Counter"

I saw a woman the other day use the crates that she brought her merchandise in as her cash wrap. And someone on here posted the same idea a few weeks ago. It looks nice when they cover it with a tablecloth.

Re: "Checkout Counter"

I have a chair like this. It weighs 7 pounds, folds flat and the foot rest is permanently attached so you don't have to screw it on like with the wood ones.

I used to have a pay station made out of 4 old wood shutters that were 36 inches high, hinged together. (two across the front, one on each side. I then made a counter top out of an old piece of wood from the garage that was about 2 inches wider and deeper than the shutters when standing (which was about 14 inches deep x 26 inches wide (i think they were 12 inch shutters). It didnt cost me anything to make as I had gotten the shutters for $2 at a yard sale. I had little metal L brackets attached to the top so that I could just bolt in the top on each side shutter so it didnt move. I also painted the top piece of wood purple and decoupaged old photos to it and did some "donna dewberry" painting on it. People thought it was cool. I don't think I have any photos of it. I switched to something else a few years ago. Actually, just a 2 ft w x 18 inch deep folding table that I got at walmart for $13.00, that has 3 heights.

Re: "Checkout Counter"

I have the same table as byamber. I usually use it to do some sewing at shows. Cheap and simple, it works perfectly. It is also adjustable height, but I don't think I have ever paid much attention to that.
