What to Sell?

I have my first 'official' market/craft fair coming up in September and would love to get some ideas on what other items I can sell.

At the moment I only sell personalised party invitations but seeing that this market is home based I will probably be offering printing services.

The problem is I would be able to accept orders but as I would have to personalise the products I couldn't sell anything then and there and it would be mainly marketing/getting my name out there based.

What other products do you think that I can sell at the time of the market other than taking orders?

Some thoughts that I've had include:
- non personalised invitations for a variety of themes
- greeting cards/gift tags
- hand made confetti etc.

Any other product suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well as general tips especially for a market stall where the main intent is to take orders.

Thanks in advance :D

Bookmarks?
Magnets
Postcards
Banners
Thank You cards

Be sure to at least get a deposit on your custom orders, if not the full amount.

Re: What to Sell?

Thanks AndieDanie,

I'm wanting to keeping things pretty much party related but I like the idea of the thank you cards and banners.

Thought also I've maybe note cards (though not party related per se) where they say 'a note from' with a line to put their names?

Others things I thought of were cupcake toppers, thank you tags, gift bags and maybe some sort if favours (like crayons/activity packs or something)

Thanks for getting my brain thinking.

I would also be getting full payment unless they are buying multiple things then I may (or may not) get a 50% deposit - haven't figured the specifics yet

Yes KilnGoddess :D

Bunting would be good and it would be a great addition to decorating my stall.

Thank you :D

Re: What to Sell?

What about party packages. Bunting, invitations, confetti, etc. that all matches. You could put it in a cute bag together for one price.

Re: What to Sell?

Awesome idea WhatleyPhotography,

I was going to do packages of plastic tableware in coordinating colours so I might add in a couple of the other things (confetti, invitations etc) into the mix and make is a complete party.

Thank you so much everyone - now I have some planning/prep to do...only about 8 weeks :D

Re: What to Sell?

I was going to say party kit but others beat me to it. How about "party in a box" to send to a student at college or otherwise out of town? End of finals, birthday, an intense project, or just because ? You could give suggestions on customizing with a cake from here www.creativecakery.com (a small business which makes wonderful bundt cakes that ship well) or a gift card from a pizza chain or subway. (I know lots of colleges offer these but they are usually just the same stuff they serve everyday. I remember my parents sent me a snack box which featured soda crackers from the cafeteria!) You could do themed paper goods, a door banner to fill in (Pizza Party at 9 Tonight! Birthday Girl! AttaBoy!) even invitations to put in dorm mailboxes....

This idea could be tweaked for an office party, bunco group or a shower-at-a-restaurant-- very handy for a working person.

Re: What to Sell?

Kate,

Hey there!

I live in Florida and am thinking of doing a couple of shows around the holiday season. My shop is also party based. I would love to know how it goes. I am thinking of selling some of the things mentioned above, but, another idea for you is party games for baby showers and bridal showers. I do parties in Tampa and all of my brides and mom-to-be's love the games and raffle tickets. Good luck and I hope you have great success!

Re: What to Sell?

I offer printed party supplies and have been wanting to do some local craft fairs, but I too have been wondering if it's something I should do since my items are also personalized. I see this thread is pretty old, so I was hoping to see what the follow up was? :)
