Table for Craft Fair?

Hello,

I will have a table at craft fair, but they dont support for tables. I am looking for buying one so I can do more fairs.

Have any of you used wallpaper tables? I am thinking to buy one from B&Q which is http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/decorating-supplies/wallpaper-tools-accessories/decorating_tables/B-and...

Can you give me idea please?

Thank you

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

I use the white plastic tables, since my tent and most of our spaces are 10ft x10' I chose the 5' x 2.5 ft. I would suggest picking a length that will fit in the majority of your space sizes. Since your items look light weight the table in the picture could work for you. I have the non hinged tables since I feel they support more weight and some of the things I do are heavier.

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

Have a layout in mind. This way you can get an idea of the size of the table you want. I spent last year doing shows w/ 6ft tables, and though they are great, I'm looking to change my layout and now wanting smaller tables.

I'm currently drafting up a new booth look and working with measurements to see what I want. I know it sounds confusing but getting a nice booth layout will draw in the people. Plus you want to be able to show as much as you can yet look like a store (in a way).
I did find tables at Costco for a really good price.

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

I've never seen one of those wallpapering tables over here in the US. In the photo, the legs dont look like they will hold up to a lot of hauling around. Do your stores have the 6 ft and 4ft plastic tables with the heavy metal folding legs? They are sold in most office stores, department stores and hardware/home improvement stores.

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

That looks a lot like a table I used for a while, and I would not recommend them. The actual surface of the table is thin particle board, and the legs shown in the picture are not that sturdy. I doubt it will hold up to more than a few craft shows even if you baby it. I suggest you go with something that will last longer. I actually built my own tables, they're 6 ft long and 2.5 feet wide, (the perfect size for my vehicle and set up) with sturdy folding metal legs I bought for $20 at the local hardware store and part of a 1/2 inch thick sheet of plywood for the top. I'm still using them 15 years later and I think my initial outlay was somewhere around $30 each.

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

Oh, forgot to say I nailed a 1inch by 2inch board along each long side for strength and support and so the legs fold inside. The whole table rests on the side boards when the legs are folded so it doesn't tear up the carpet in my truck. They're light enough to haul 2 at the same time and sturdy enough I don't have to worry about my whole display going over if someone sets a heavy bag down on it to dig for change.

Also, I did the conversion, the tables you are looking at are pretty narrow, (less than 2 feet) so take that into account.

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

i agree. try finding the heavy plastic folding tables. they're great. they generally come in 5 or 6 feet. I managed to find an 8 feet one that folds in 1/2 and it fits perfectly in my little nissan altima!

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

Both of my tables (from Costco) were given to me by a friend for a birthday present. My friends really know me well.

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

I use the white plastic tables. I am always watching for when they go on sale, and even if I don't need it. I will get one and so on. You never know when you will need an extra table and since the price is so high when they are on sale I get them.

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

That wallpapering table looks shoddy, I'd spend a bit more and get something sturdy. The plastic ones that fold up with the handle are what we used. I think we paid $40 it a few years back, but you can find them for $30 sometimes.

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

I personally love my 4ft by 2 ft tables. Fold in half to 2X2 squares, easily stored away when not in use, light and portable. They can also be from table height to counter height. With 3 to 4 smaller tables I have the flexibility on how to arrange the tables in different configurations, depending on booth size or shape. These were made by LifeTime tables.

Pamela - how sturdy/steady are those when you have them set to counter height? And where did you buy them?

Re: Table for Craft Fair?

The tables have been very sturdy at outdoor shows. I got them at Sam's club and I've also seen them online. I don't know how heavy your displays are, but I sell jewelry and haven't had any problems. They are rated for indoor and outdoor use, lock in place and have tops that don't chip, peel or crack. Here is link to the 4 foot fold fold in half adjustable table. http://www.lifetime.com/tableschairs/rectangular/4-foot-fold-in-half. You can check out their 5 and 8 foot fold in halfs as well.
