Square Users... What do you do with your card reader when you're not using it?

I just got my Square reader and I'm wondering what's the best way to take care of it and what to do with it when I'm not doing an event?

Do you have something you keep it in so it doesn't get damaged?

Do you always keep it with you in between events for just in case?

Love square! I would have missed out on $175 at my last show without it. I keep mine in my business card box so I won't forget it and it doesn't get rumbled around.

I keep mine in my cash box in the little foam pack that it came in. It would be nice to have another to carry around in my purse should an occasion arise to sell something.

I've only done two shows with it and I've already misplaced my Square about ten times.

I need a square holder on a strap around my neck.... OOO wait - better idea - a cell phone strap that holds it, that's long enough to plug it in while still attached to the strap! Yes. Will go make one when I get home :D

I took the foam it came in and cut it smaller and I keep it in there in my cash box. I have a backup that's in the foam in the box it came in and I keep that one in my van that I take to all my shows. This thread just reminded me I wanted a third so I went and requested another. Eventually I want one in my cashbox, one is my purse, one in my house, and one in each car. I always need it when I don't have it, but then again I also need to get another smart phone since I can only do transactions on my husbands phone or on my ipod with wifi.

Mine's in the foam folder thing it came in, in the box that has all my merchandise.

Since my original post I now have 2 readers. I keep 1 in the foam package it came in and keep it packed with my receipt book and other cash wrap supplies. The other one I keep in the Square Pouch that I purchased which hangs from my key ring for those "just in case" moments.

I like the idea of somehow having a wrist strap attachment for it. Would love to see/purchase one of those!

Finally found a stylus pen tonight at Walmart :)

I bought a stylus pen for about $5 on ebay. They have a wide selection of them in various prices. Got it to use with my smartphone when I get to the signature portion of processing a payment using the Square for people with big fingers. I found it's a little tricky for most people to get the hang of (i.e., how much pressure to use) and they usually wind up using their finger to sign. But I always make sure to have the stylus with me.
