I would love to see how everyone's shop looks for craft shows. I know this is a very important thing to consider when starting so I'm working on my set up now. Show me yours if you have a picture.
TillyWhistle, yours is so pretty! I'm sticking with indoor shows as I get started. Some day I'll do a big booth like yours! :) I just did my first on Saturday and here's my setup:
I did a simpler setup at home and if I add my banner, I'm not sure if I like the busier one or the simpler one for my next show. Any advice from all you pros? :)
Tilly, I love what looks like a headboard from a small bed(?) That would work well for several things I sell. May I ask, did you repurpose it or build it?
Thanks Susan! Carol, it was actually my childhood headboard :) We chopped the legs off and added a square base to each leg, slapped a coat of paint on and called it good!
Here is my booth from this past Saturday. I should have put up my walls because I ended up listening to my neighbors' conversation for the entire day. Good Walls make Good Neighbors. I ended up getting 3rd prize in the Most Beautiful Tent Contest. I didn't know they were judging booths, and that really made my day. It was a very well run show with courteous and extremely helpful volunteers. If they had a show in the Fall I would consider doing it again. It was SO hot on Saturday.
This is my booth from this past Saturday- my grandfather, who helps me with all my shows, is behind the table in this one. My table cloth was (somewhat) fixed after these pictures were taken.
Great booths! I had it all down when i was selling mixed media art but I don't do craft shows with art anymore. So, I've begun selling dog coats, bandannas etc. It is a challenge for me to set up for this type of craft. So, in the fall when i will be doing more shows, I want to have a really AWESOME booth. Any suggestions on how to display bandannas and dog coats? I am definately going to have sides on my booth this time.
Here's what I ended up with at the Etsy Denton Summer Bazaar a couple weeks ago. :) I was pretty happy with it, but I think I may get another small table for an L shape and hope to get a bigger booth. :)
Meghan, that looks great! You are so lucky to have someone help you out. I'm usually alone at these events. I like how your sign is all nice and flat...mine is rolled up at one end.
I am going to put my sign in the middle for the next outdoor show. I really don't like it on the side. I also bought curtains for the other two corners of the booth. I've ordered some samples of heavier weight cloth in different shades of green to find one that will work with color scheme. I want to be able to either center it down the middle of the table from front to back ~and/OR~ be able to switch it, so the length goes from end to end for something different.
I changed up my farmers market booth this year. I condensed it from 2 - 6 foot tables down to 1 - 6 foot table. I like the set up. I might get some risers to raise it up at some point and I have a banner that I will add as well.
I LOVE seeing everyone's beautiful booths! I've gotten some great ideas!
Here are some of mine. This is a whole album of booth photos from some of my first shows until now, it was fun for me to go through and see how much I've changed it! Here is one from last weekend:
Instead of walls, I bought 4 yards of semi-sheer fabric and just pin it to the tent canopy on the top, and use giant binder clips to clip it to the tent legs on the bottom. It's much more colorful and breathable than the tent walls!
