Setbacks before fair causing frustrations!

I have a fair on Sunday and naturally I'm still chasing the clock on getting things finished! Though not much left to do... I'm just feeling a bit peeved with 2 lots of supplies that are rendered useless for what I need...

The first being greeting card bags that claim to fit the size cards & envelopes that I use, I carefully chose the right ones, they even had the mm measurement, bought online for convenience ....what do I find when I go to put my cards in ....they're 7mm too small!!! Grr! Time wasted today getting the right ones from a shop.

Second rant and this I'm going to have to take up with the supplier. They're boxes, but they're bowed, got gaps where they should fit, so my product (if I used them) would fall out.
I bought 360 of them and only 82 are useable for my intended purpose. I'm so disappointed - I've had 2 really pleasing orders from them in the past, but not this time.

Anyway, thank you if you've read this far I just needed to get it off my chest!

Re: Setbacks before fair causing frustrations!

A little update on the fair from yesterday - it went really well and I'd definitely do that one again.
I got approached to attend a vintage car show in July too!

Heres a link to someone else's pages that has a picture of my stand

Re: Setbacks before fair causing frustrations!

Hope you will be able to return the faulty stuff and you won't lose money. That's frustrating!! Glad that the show went well for you and it was good enough to do again next year!! Good for you. I just got something in the mail myself today about a show that will take place sometime this summer. It's a re-do from last year, and I'm still on the fence about it. Didn't make much money last time, but had a great time and just made expenses. Don't know..... We'll see how I feel in a couple of days. I like doing the shows where I don't lose money -- even if I don't make much. I had a wonderful time, it was only two days and I didn't have to pack up anything and bring it home because they have really good security. Lots of foot traffic, they advertise it like crazy. It's just that there were thousands of attendees but they weren't buying anything. Maybe this year will be better???

Re: Setbacks before fair causing frustrations!

Glad to hear it all went well. I wish there was a larger shot of the booth but all looks well...your day confirms that too.

Emma I'd do the show. Your items seem, to me at least, a little outside of "normal".

It might take people awhile to digest the uniqueness. I sell sharks teeth and people need time to digest that. Half of my "be back" customers actually do come back.

The other problem with being unique but somewhat familiar is that 'shoppers' don't know if you're prices are good/bad, they need to compare or at least think they did.
