How to display aprons

Hi!

I make and sell handmade aprons. I have a few small kitchen items as well but mostly it's just the aprons. I have a small craft table at a craft fair this saturday that I am sharing with a friend who crochets baby hats. Her designs don't take up a lot of room and she's hanging some of them, but I'm at a loss as to how to display my full and half size aprons. The tables run together so there's no room for a display beside the table, it's crowded behind the table and it all open (not separate booths or tents). So I am kind of limited. If i just lay the aprons across the table, they will not get noticed and people won't even be able to tell what I am selling. I plan to do a giveaway and thought about wearing that apron to display it,....other then that I don't know what to do!! Help!

use skirt hangars for some of the halfs and use command hooks to hang them across the front of the table.

Think Deb has a great idea. You could also use the command hooks to tie off some clothesline and use clothespins to hang them along the front...Especially since the stuff I can see in your shop has a cool kind of retro look....

Re: How to display aprons

I got ahold of some of those shepherd's hooks that clamp onto the table -- you can see what I'm talking about in my shop where I hang my crocheted totes. I've clamped them to the deck outside and picture my totes on them. When I bring them to a show, I clamp them to the table and hang whatever I want to feature. The hook is placed away from the clamp so if you put it on the front of the table it will hang out in the aisle, which is what you want. They can be found at the garden supply places and they work like a charm. I would bring a small piece of wood though so you don't mess up your table when you clamp it down. And good luck. Doing shows is so much more fun when you have a booth buddy, huh?

Re: How to display aprons

I use a 12 skirt hanger that is available from most retail supply distributors that run about $36.00 for a case of 100. You can see on of my kitchen accessory displays here https://www.etsy.com/shop/ChicagoCoutureBags/about?ref=shopinfo_about_leftnav which includes adult and children's aprons. I use 9" for the kids aprons.

Re: How to display aprons

How large is your booth space? Is it outdoors?

This is how I set up my booth last: https://www.facebook.com/kitschnstitchin/photos/pb.191103570941282.-2207520000.1397155639./663649140...

I have since gotten a much sturdier and generally fancier clothing rack for my half aprons. My biggest struggle is displaying full aprons well. They tend to lose their shape and get lost on a rack. I tried hanging a few from my tent, which got people's attentions, but the wind picked up and next thing I knew, my aprons were waving like flags.

I'm considering a grid wall but I haven't considered it hard enough to actually purchase one. Let us know what you come up with and how it works out for you! Good luck!

Re: How to display aprons

Thank you for the great feed back! It is an indoor fair and my space is very small so it's quite limiting, although I know there are challenges with large spaces as well. Full aprons are definitely the toughest to display, but I did a trial run for the half aprons today and the idea with the command strips ( mine were just a dollar store brand) and skirt hangers worked perfectly! I love that idea! My idea for full aprons involves a ladder, I'm just not sure how to make it work with my space and then of course a decorative mannequin is always great!! Thanks for the feedback ladies!!
