How to Find Local Craft Shows

How do I find out where local craft shows are? I have been only selling online, but would like to branch out and do craft/art shows in 2012.

Appreciate any and all advice!

thanks.

Re: How to Find Local Craft Shows

1. Check the schedules on the websites of artists in your area, then go visit those shows to decide if they are a good fit for you before applying.

2. Find shows through www.festivalnet.com . You can get basic information without paying.

3. Join www.zapplication.com, check the listings on that site and read about how zapplication works.

Craigslist often has ads from promoters searching for vendors.

RoxeMarie - Pick up a copy of the publication "Where It's At" for lists of shows in TX and LA. You can find it near the registers at a Hobby Lobby store.

Re: How to Find Local Craft Shows

If there are shops or boutiques in your area that cater to your target market, you can always check with them to see if you can do a trunk show.

This site has a state by state listing. It isn't comprehensive but it's got some ideas!

Re: How to Find Local Craft Shows

hi roxe!

great places to find shows are with your local chamber, local churches, local craig's list and different local festivals. once you do a couple, too, you can network with others at the show about other shows they may do or know about.

also, your local etsy team is good too!

Thanks everyone for the great information. I am doing a large juried show, but would love to do some small shows. This info will help a lot.

Re: How to Find Local Craft Shows

Someone else mentioned it already, but craftlister.com/eventlister.com is pretty much the only resource I use to find shows. It has tons of info plus reviews from other vendors which is what I look for. I won't do a show without reading reviews for it first.
