How to Display Shawls and Ponchos?

Hi, All!

I'm struggling to plan for a 10x8' space at a big local faire. I have reserved an 8' table, and I was going to take a 6' table also. But that's not the issue.


I have 6 or 8 shawls that I would like to display. It's not many, compared to the rest of my stock.

I have a garment rack- this kind http://www.amazon.com/DecoBros-Supreme-Commercial-Clothing-Garment/dp/B00C91XVQ8/ref=lp_16353491_1_4... It takes up a lot of space and isn't very attractive. And the only way I can think to use it and 2 tables is in a U.

Pictures of the show in past years have mostly inverted displays, very open. Either tables or racks but not both, I think. 3rd picture down on the left. http://www.californiacraftshow.com/

I don't know which space I will get yet, but I do want to fit in with the other vendors. Any brilliant ideas for small square footage ways to display just a few hanging things?

IF you don't have access to a torso shell then maybe make one from chicken wire and paper machete. Layer the wet sheets of paper over the chicken wire in a cross hatch pattern to cover the wire. You can make a blend of Elmer's Glue and water or sugar and water or even cornstarch and water.

Our show last weekend, many crochet and knitters glore, most had one display piece then the rest of the items were tagged nicely and folded on the tables. Allowing the customer to pick each one one and look at it. Then the crafts-person would offer to fold it back up for the customer.....giving the seller another importunity to chat with a customer one on one.

I use both a garment rack as well as set aside one side of my display for my shawls and other wearables

Another possibility would be to take a bifold door and put a few hooks on it to show of your wares.

I have threaded shawls and such over dowel rods and hung them up that way.
