How do I find good local craft fairs?

I actually have the time where I could do this right now, and I want to start small to see how it goes. I am a little overwhelmed with big shows for my first craft fair!

Where do I look?

Talk to other vendors at craft shows and in Facebook groups.

What is 'good' for one vendor may be horrible for another. It is best to visit a show before vending there to see if it is a good fit for you. Watch what the vendors are selling, what the shoppers look like and what the shoppers are buying.

Re: How do I find good local craft fairs?

My best advice is to just jump in to your first craft show or two. I was able to make friends with other craft show vendors that way and they passed on so much information to me on which shows they recommend, etc. I booked 2 shows this fall they recommended for about $40 each and am looking forward to trying them out. Another thing I am going to try and do is to attend shows on the weekends I'm not doing craft shows to check out which ones I would be interested in participating in next year. Search the teams for a local group (mine is the Southern Maryland etsy group) which may get you started. As other said, some are good for 1 company while being terrible for another. I personally need shows where people are willing to pay $50 for a wreath. I also think that I personally am going to do better a crafter only events where there aren't vendors (like Pampered Chef, etc).
