Gallery Style Show

I'm considering applying for a craft show where we drop off inventory to be sold in a "gallery style" with a cashier checkout. The fee is $25 then 8% of your sales. The application actually says anticipated 8% but might be more based on sales and expenses. Not a fan of that phrasing. You help with set up and work a 4 hour shift over the 2 days. Just wondering what peoples experiences have been with this arrangement.

I've done that type of show a couple times - they called it a Boutique :) and mine lasted like a week and a half - 2 weekends and inbetween.

They stirred everything together and displayed by color and I thought it was hard to shop.  So much to see you miss half of it.

I remember doing ok for sales but not great.

I'd nail down that 8% thing though - what does that mean? If they do a bad job advertising and have poor sales you have to pay a bigger % that's not cool.
