Re: Banner question

I don't put my contact info on my banner although some do.

I much prefer to keep my banner clean looking.

What happens if you change your contact info? Then you will need to get a new banner.

All of my contact info is on my business cards so that if someone really wants to keep it they can easily slip a card into their pocket.

Re: Banner question

I agree with Crochetgal, that's what business cards are for. You could put your state or town on the banner...some of the shows I do require that info. on signs...but they don't enforce it.

Re: Banner question

My banner only has my name on it.
I don't want people to buy NOW, not later on Etsy, facebook, etc.

Re: Banner question

IMHO, a web address on the banner gives the impression that you are an established business. This may boost consumer confidence and implant the concept that you may be able to be reached in future for additional product.
My web address is on my banner. And my banner is also my brand - same as the banner of my Etsy shop. It's on all of my packaging.

Re: Banner question

I am designing my banner now and I had the same question. I was wondering what web address everyone uses for their etsy shop. Is it your name.etsy.com or etsy.com/shop/name? I love the fact that everyone here is open and sharing of info..

Re: Banner question

Hi Kim , I bought a domain probably about 4 months ago and I still have not figured out how to forward the address to my etsy shop. :( Can you please share some tips on how to do this?

By the way, great info about the banner. I am thinking of getting one soon, but was still trying to figure out what domain to add to it.
Thanks !

Re: Banner question

Show banner?

I gave my banner sleeve away to another artisan. I don't think people look up that high when they're shopping or browsing a art fair.

Often in the programs they hand out a pamphlet and we're required to have our booth number clearly visible on the outside of our canopies. But yeah, no banner for me.

Re: Banner question

Mari, it's something called "URL Forwarding", "URL Redirect", or "Domain Forwarding", depending on where you have your domain. You can change the settings in your domain's account settings.

Re: Banner question

Use a nice bright colored banner and people will liook up. I have mine as a beautiful aqua color. I only use my store name and my tag line that reads, Jewelry For the Goddess in You, and many people comment and walk in!

Re: Banner question

Keep your banner clear and focused. I have my logo, label name and some pretty design features. My details and info dont need to be there, because if they like what they see they will come closer and grab a business card with my deets on it. They cant take your banner with them!
