"Hi everyone,
Today we’re beginning a test that shows a new Etsy homepage to shoppers coming to Etsy for the first time. The homepage is the way we introduce new people to Etsy, and encourage them to make purchases and come back to Etsy again and again. We rarely talk about these tests proactively, but we know how important the homepage is so wanted to let you know what’s going on over the next few weeks. We appreciate your patience and trust as we launch this test. Below you’ll find some more details about the test.
Why are we launching this test?
The ultimate goal of this experiment is to draw new buyers into Etsy, turning more visitors into loyal buyers for our sellers. We want new users to land on our homepage and understand what makes Etsy special, to see the faces of our makers and the methods people use to craft their goods, to see beautiful products that express the diversity and variety of our marketplace, and to engage with more elements of our site.
Who will see this new page?
The new version of the homepage will be shown to a small % of new visitors. The current version of the homepage will be shown to all visitors we recognize and to logged in users.
What about Treasuries?
The homepage for new buyers does not include any Treasuries, but they will remain on the homepage for return visitors, who represent the vast majority of traffic to Etsy.com. At this point in time we do not have any tests planned for the homepage we show to return visitors.

It looks like there may not be a front page to conquer for very much longer. So, if that is how it will be going I'd like to hear what you would like to see from the team. Should I dissolve it? Should we switch gears and take our community on a new track? Let me know what you think!
