how to do BNR'S and BNS's

I participated in my first BNR yesterday. I thought it was fun. But it seems there is some knowledge I am lacking (nothing new there!).

What is the etiquete? Should I invite people? Should I stay logged on to site for entire length of event? Anything else you might want to teach me?

Re: how to do BNR'S and BNS's

hi! this is Stinkysocks ---i curated a while ago....
im a certified BNR addict LOL
well it is customary to heart or favorite the treasury so it shows up in your activity feed.
people do send convos about a treasury but please only invite people you know or are in youir circle because there are shopowners who dont like those. it would be good to stay in the BNR especially if you are featuresd because others tend to buy in from you if u are active.
curators come up with all sorts of games and promos like free spots for sending invites or buying from curator.
well its a first step to join our team coz you r in good company. our next bnr is monday =) (7 pst) we have a preview sale the night before wherein the curators checkin every once in a while....give people a chance to gain exposure
hope that helps!

Re: how to do BNR'S and BNS's

bnr= buy and replace. well, there are featured shops in a treasury . then another (nonfeatured shop) will buy from one of those shops and replace that shop in their place in the treasury immediately. for example, Btbaldyglassworks is already in a bnr treasury, but olskool is not and wants to be featured, so olskool buys from mtbaldyglass . then olskool's item replaces mtbaldy's in the treasury right after purchase. (sorry to use you guys as examples)

bns= buy and stay. it is a stagnant treasury where there is a set of featured shops. you buy from a featured shop then stay there for the whole round. i am not very familiar with these as to i have not recently participated in them. i prefer bnrs.

it took me a couple of days/wks to get the concept and Bees had to hold my hand LOL but the best and easiest way to learn is to watch or even participate in one. we have a bnr on monday at 7 or 7:30 am pst. we will have another one on thursdays same time.

bnr/bns is a way to get sales and if nothing else, your shop gets exposure! plus it is really fun!

Re: how to do BNR'S and BNS's

Hi I joined etsy in march and found every time I needed help with anything I just sent a convo to someone who favorited me and everyone was more than willing to help. My first bnr bns were another learning curve but again you just ask the question and someone wIll help.
Great you are are having your own I am often not available as i'm in australia so due to time differences and I work full time so often can only pop in and out..so best of luck for monday. What state in the US are you in so i can look up world time & map.
I thinks it's really funny when people say 11'o clock etsy time...very funny as its depends on what country you are in or maybe they know something I don't. cheers

Re: how to do BNR'S and BNS's

Hi everyone! Welcome and thanks for joining this new team of ours! (I am also BeesQualityGarments).

To clarify regarding a BNS....it is similar to a BNR in that 14-16 shops are represented (featured)....other, non-featured, shops attend, promote and purchase from the featured shops. A list of buyers is kept (called "the next round"). When sales total 14 (or whatever curator has decided), the current round is over, all those who bought are now the featured shops and "the next round" can begin. If sales are hopping, the curator may decide to immediately go into the next round, or wait until some other time. I have seen as many as 4 rounds take place in just one morning when sales were really rocking!

I prefer these, as you can attend, buy in, and then go about your business until your shop is featured in "the next round". Curators will convo you when your round is starting. Sometimes, Curators have a set start time for the next round, so, you will know when your shop is "up". Of course, you can hang out for the whole show if you want to.

So, olskool, the major difference between these two is, the BNS keeps a running list for featured shops (the buyers) who will be in the next round, whereas the BNR immediately replaces the currently featured shop with the shop who bought from them. It is best to be at BNRs the whole time. If someone buys from you, your shop is OUT (no longer featured) and you may want to "buy back in" (to be featured again).

Also, in a BNR, no shop can purchase from a single shop twice, unless that shop has 2 spots in the treasury. In a BNS, because all of the shops are available the entire sale, several shops can purchase from a single shop.

Both are great for getting to know other shop owners, giving your shop exposure, and hopefully, getting a few sales too!

As Jalall says, it is all a learning curve!

Hope to see you Monday at 10am EST!
