Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

Getting rid of a lot of bulk in order to free up time to put up the rare stuff. Glad to get feedback on any of it. try to price things according to market and suggestions from numerous web sites.

Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

Marie anything you are looking for. I will sell you anything at my price plus shipping I could get tomorrow. It's a small little auction at a stamp place, but it's good because the dealers don't know about it- just the old times who collect for real. There are still about 40 nice coins you don't often see.

p.s. they do a monthly auction that is available online and ship. Some great stuff good deals. Scroll down for coin categories.

Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

Torn on this! What do you think it should go up for? Not keeping it isnt hard. $ goes to the older cousin that owns it. Trying to max the value out, yet still get him $ quickly. think it is fine-V. fine.

Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

I think you should get it slabbed before going that high on an item. It's better than Fine for sure. And would only be worth that much at MS64 to 65 level.

Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

It's got some little face marks which is okay but that big scratch in front of the face hurts, and on the back it has some little machine denting marks it looks like. I mean otherwise it could be like an MS63 maybe 64 but that one big scratch on the front would keep it below 64 I would think. And the color looks just too good that it could have been dipped or something. But honestly dude I do not know, Peace/Morgans I stay away from and I'm not a fan of grading them.

Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

To Robert on 1921 S Morgan: I think any coin that you are trying to sell for that price in today's market you should get slabbed. I agree with Drew, the color looks to good to match the condition. Rarer Morgans get faked all the time.I'm not saying it is a fake, but, it may have been cleaned or such and that would hurt the price. It would put the buyer at ease if you got it slabbed. If you decide not to slab it, you might want to add some better photos, like a close up of that scratch on the front.
Good luck with it!

Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

Hi Drew: They have a couple interesting looking colonial coins at the auction, but, they might go too high to make a profit on- and, I'd have to see them. Maybe they have photos of them in the link you sent me and they just didn't come up. You reminded me though to start checking auctions again. I haven't been to one in a long time!
Good luck tomorrow. I hope you get something good.

Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

come on guys. put it at that price till I got a real price. Not a fake as my relatives were bankers in the thumb of MI and I am in charge of moving a lot of old change for them. YES the price is a joke. Yes they were CLEANED by my great uncle (He is 87 I dont argue with him) I will report in the actual listing that it has been cleaned.

Now that is over...What is a reasonable value for Morgan Silver dollars? Nothing to rare. some S many are well worn. This is the exception

Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

updated it, probably a little above market, but you never know... put in the newer pictures, listed it as cleaned. Thanks for your suggestions. serious collectors will probably never touch this one. but Joe Blow might want to have a pretty piece of silver.

Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

On a more serious note, and one that any collector might consider. What do you place a value of a set of 2 cent coins at from 1864- 1872? i have the means to put 2 of these sets together and would like to move them. none of them have been cleaned . Most (except the 72) Still show the "we" in the banner on the back. No small motto '64 though. Any guessing? $600-700? Was offered $450 once for it, but thought that was a low combined total.

Not sure how to grade on the # scale but most will fall in the F-VF category

how about if I purchased a small motto and put together the full set?

Your suggestions please.

Re: DECEMBER New Listings.

marie: i got a fine half dime, a VG S.L. Quarter I forget the year, Stone Mountain(which I paid too much on i just like it) and a G+ S.l. dime. I really should have gotten all the quarters the other was a better date and nicer at 17/ 3 other seated dimes went for 6-8 and were VG-F and this nice spanish 4 real 1896 went for 10.50. $16 for a 1916-s standing quarter, 25 for a really nice 21 merc dime ... def good deal.

i'm thinking i do need to use ebay for my rarer shit. this is good for like mercury dimes/silver quarters/ wheat cents--- i doubt anyone will know what a half dime is.
