My newest additions are 3 pieces from Bizet's Jeux d'enfants, Peacherine rag by Scott Joplin, and a beautiful arrangement of "This Is My Father's World".

I love Joplin! So many fun tunes that he has. I just wrapped up the semester full of Debussy's Beau Soir, Elgar's "Where Corals Lie", "Als luise de briefe..." by Mozart (Super fun tune...the translation is "As Luise burns the letters of her faithless lover!") La Vezzosa Pastorella (Bruni), and My Master Hath a Garden by Richard Hundley. Also, a musical theater tune from Carousel that was a blast--Mister Snow. I'm excited to pick out rep for next semester and maybe a couple of piano pieces for the summer. :-)

We are launching "The Hollywood Bowl Vintage Collection" at Walt Disney Concert Hall, this Saturday night, May 9 5:00 PM-10:00 PM. Main lobby next to the LA Phil Store.

Wow! I just realized that it's been two years since I last posted in this particular conversation! Andi, I just was accompanying someone who sang Beau Soir and it is GORGEOUS!! I'll have to check out that Mozart! Andrea, I wish I could have been there!
I just passed my full faculty jury at college a few weeks ago and now I am about to start working on repertoire for my junior recital!
Here's the plan:
Scarlatti Sonata K 466 in F minor
Mozart Piano Sonata no. 19 in D major (first movement)
Debussy Ce qu'a vu le vent d'ouest (What the West Wind Saw)
Debussy Voiles
and Chopin's 4th Scherzo!
I will also be learning Brahms' Sonata for two pianos to play with a friend and MAYBE a movement of a piano concerto if I have time!

Hannah, Congrats on passing your faculty jury!!! I hope your recital went great (Maybe it hasn't happened yet? Idk...you'll have to give us all the lovely details!) A sonata for two pianos sounds like a BLAST!!!!

A new school year means new rep!! Yay! I just had my first voice lesson of the semester last week and we laid out my rep for the next few months:

Happy fall y'all! What's everybody up to musically?? I'm preparing for my senior solo recital! Lots of good music with a German set (Mostly Schubert) and a set of my favorite English pieces!
