Advice please

I would love it if you could critique my shop. I'm new to Etsy and I could really use any advise or suggestions you may have. Thank you so much!

Re: Advice please

Your banner is beautiful. Your pictures a pretty good. However the color pallet of your pics is to muted. I would go with something that has more pop. The pieces get lost and you don't see them. Also for your avatar I would go with something that 1) matches your banner 2) is a picture of you or 3) is a piece you have made. Hope that helps.

Re: Advice please

Your banner is really pretty and striking. Love the purple. I agree about the photos. They are a little too muted and need to pop more to stand up against the banner. I also used a photo avatar when I started, but changed it to one of the items in my shop, on some good advice from team members. A photo of yourself doesn't show what you make. I've just ordered a new matching banner and avatar set, after trying to do it myself several times. Should be up soon.

I love your banner! So pretty! However, I agree with the others - make your pictures stand out!

Good luck!

Re: Advice please

I agree with the others - your banner is awesome but your photos don't showcase your work. Although I really like the concept, your pieces blend in with your background so I'm having a hard time actually seeing the item. :)

Re: Advice please

P.S. I'm a bit forgetful today - Your avatar does not reflect what you sell. I thought you sold prints of photography based on your avatar. I'd use one of your favorite pieces. I change my avatar on a regular basis to showcase various drawings. The one I have now is a custom elemental that I'm completely in love with at the moment!

Re: Advice please

You must have changed your avatar - it looks great! I think that as soon as you change your photos to make your pieces stand out, and get more listed in your shop, you will have some success. For photos, think close up and bright. You have to catch a buyer's eye from a tiny thumbnail photo, in a sea of other jewellery pieces. Good luck!

Re: Advice please

Thanks for all the advice! I've put up new pictures, although I don't think they are quite "catchy" enough yet

Re: Advice please

i think you are on the right track, my only bit of advice would be to have your first picture be the one that pops the most, since it is the picture that comes up win searches. for example, in this listing, http://www.etsy.com/listing/68774802/sweet-heart-green-quartz-earrings the picture you are using is really muted, and it doesnt stand out, where as the fourth picture you have in that listing does. i think when you have a great first picture you are more likely to draw someone in. especially in searches where jewelry is so over-saturated. you have to work constantly with pics making them just right and all. i am still working on mine, but i have come a looonnnggg way! hopefully that at least gives you one idea to go with maybe. :)

Re: Advice please

Great logo...

Stil not in oar of the pics, make people WANT your jewelry. I do suggest always using the same background in all your pictures or pick 1-3 backgrounds you use all the time. I say this time again because it really works, its all psychological....Your items are worthy of the listed prices, just need to switch those pics up, make them look a little more professional. And give them correlation.
