Here's a friendly reminder that this week is the time to do some Spring cleaning!
Do you guys have any tips for cleaning & keeping tidy?
My favourite way to clean as well as keep things in order is to use up what I have before I buy more of it.
Say I have this huge pile of yarn (not saying I do...*jams yarn into closet*) and it's enough for me to make plenty of Radical Bears, hats, and gloves. Before I go out and get more yarn and fill up valuable space, I use up what's in the pile to the last remnants. This goes for any type of supplies, especially if you know you have enough to last you for awhile.
For the everyday person, take a look at your pantry/cabinets/refrigerator. Are there things in there that you're just waiting for the "right" time to cook with them? Wait no longer! Before you go out and buy more groceries (besides milk & bread), use up what you have in the kitchen to clean out space. If you're stuck on what to cook using those supplies, check out supercook.com. This site allows you to add whatever you have in your kitchen, and recipes pop up for you to use. It has TOTALLY helped me out when I'm completely stomped on what to fix for dinner!
The best part of using up what you already have to clear out space, is that it saves money! When you're looking at supplies that you don't know what to do with, you can come up with creative ways to incorporate those supplies into your craft. This means you will not be searching the craft stores (or online) for new supplies for quite awhile!
Feel free to share your cleaning & space saving tips! Remember, the better organized you are, the more productive you'll be! A clean and well organized office and work area promotes a free mind and less stress while working. :)
