I often look forward to making myself a nice hot drink when I'm sitting at the desk working on my computer or painting. However, my drink always gets cold too fast before I can finish it. It might be because I often left it too late to start drinking or I'm just not drinking it fast enough. I like making a huge mug of coffee too, in a glass mug. I've tried keep the mug warm before I make the coffee, while I was waiting for the kettle to boil. It didn't help much. Maybe a hot plate or a device that is plugged in to put underneath?
I know I can use a thermal mug but it kinda makes the drink taste a little artificial and it doesn't feel as good as drinking out of a mug/cup.
I have the same dilemma, Art. I am sipping some coffee from a thermal cup right now but it's not the same. I have put a saucer over the top of my cup sometimes. Helps a little but not much. Sometimes I fill a thermos and take it to my desk. Then I'll fill my cup as I need it.
Good morning bgbg, that's a good idea, fill a thermos and fill the cup as we need it, I will just do that now, thank you =]

A long time ago, I used to work reception. There, I just got used to drinking cold coffee :)
Mind you, I was glued to a desk and I had no choice. Now I do not prefer to drink my coffee when it is super hot. I like it to cool a bit.
aww that's not nice, glued to the desk drinking cold coffee = { If I were working there then I would've made sure to bring you hot coffee =]
By the way, I like your shop's name pigeonplumtree, kinda poetic =]
Oh, I do not have a shop, but thank you anyway.
@pigeonplumtree I like the name regardless it's a shop's name or your profile name, it's poetic, puts a beautiful scenic image in my head =]
Here ya go.... a coffee heater
aww thanks =] I was thinking maybe an electric heat insulation plate
Do you like to savour your coffee or drink it very fast? I like to savour...
I like my coffee.
I like to savour my coffee =]
And are you sad when it is all done? I am.
That's why I looked and looked and looooooked for a huge coffee mug... finally found one, a ceremic natural colour plain mug then some years later I found another, a clear glass huge mug that I bought from Ikea, it was only £1, love it =D
In Wales, which is more popular? Coffee or tea?
@pigeonplumtree I think tea used to be most popular in UK but coffee might have now become more popular, there are so many varieties and brands to choose from. I've quitted drinking both tea and coke some years ago, cutting down on caffeine and for keeping my teeth healthy =] I was not much into drinking coffee at the time. Now I only drink coffee, first drink to kick start the morning, trying to drink just one a day.
I find that very interesting. Here in North America, I would say that tea is slowly taking over. I know many tea drinkers, I do. And there are many tea places popping up.
How do you prefer your coffee? Dark or light? I much prefer a light roast, only because I cannot stomach a dark roast as easily and also, because a lighter roast contains more caffeine.
I also like a little bit o'cream.
I use evaporated milk for my coffee, I prefer cream than milk, it makes coffee creamier =] I use brown sugar. Actually it's the aroma that I like, I do not like the taste left in the mouth after drinking coffee. I prefer a light roast too, dark is too strong too bitter. I haven't really found a brand that I really like. If I go out for a coffee then I would most likely go for a cappucinno =]
Is Folgers coffee available in the UK?
And do you have Starbucks? Here, Starbucks rules the world. We must have 4 of them on every corner!
I'm not sure if Folgers coffee is available here, don't think I've seen it in the supermarkets.
Yes we have Starbucks and Costa. I don''t think I have yet tried the pumpkin spice latte, wanted to but never got a chance.
I've tried this mocha chillino cold drink, it was so heavenly good =]
I really looked, for Folgers coffee, when I went to the supermarket today. I checked out every brand on the shelf, no Folgers.
Oh good heavens! has Starbucks invaded the UK too?
Is anywhere safe from Starbucks?
Starbucks has been around here for some time =]
Today, Starbucks... tomorrow the world!
I'm at the end of my coffee stock, will have enough to make about last 2 or 3 mugs of coffee. I'm gonna try to stop drinking coffee after that and will change to drinking tea. I just bough teabags, new brand too. The problem is drinking tea makes you need to go to the bathroom a lot more, I'm not sure I like that LOL
I thought everyone from the U.K. drinks tea. LOL. that is the stereotype. With biscuits.
