New to Etsy

Good evening all! I'm new to Etsy... well I'm new to selling handcrafted items. I craft wallet and leather goods. I opened my shop on Etsy about a month ago. I was wondering if there where any tips or useful advice anyone would be kind enough to give. I'm also new to the craft scene so if there is anything I need to know please help out. Please feel free to look at my shop and if you think that I can improve on anything, it would be greatly appreciated if you let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Amir

Re: New to Etsy

Amir, Welcome to Etsy, for starters. My biggest suggestion is to join several teams and join in with their "games". The games help your shop to be seen by others within/without Etsy. Also, they help your shop get higher ratings so that potential customers will be able to find you faster.

If you're fairly familiar with Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, and/or Facebook, try posting some of your items there (all of those 4 groups, or of your choice.) Twitter is the one I'm most familiar with. I've posted my shop items, periodically, once to 3 times per week. Then, I've retweeted other people's items, too. Over time, I'm gathering followers, and being followed. We retweet each other's stuff. It keeps growing.

Whether, or not, you get a ton of sales, you're building a "Twitter team" in which all of you gain more exposure, together. Eventually, I believe, that the sales start coming.

You, or anyone else, on the team is welcome to follow me on Twitter. My handle is @KathieZulaski. I will follow you back. How far you want to go is up to you.

Good Luck!:)

Re: New to Etsy

I, almost, forgot. Several of our teammates have already posted a lot of great tips that're useful for gaining exposure, "status", sales, etc. Check them out and go for it, when you find something that works for you.
