My oldest cat, 14 years old, has got hematochezia and weight loss recently. He did x-ray, blood test, cobalamin / folate / TLI/PLITAM test, Ultrasound and all medical treatments, but his situation does not improve so far. The doctor suggests to do biopsy for further check. I got an estimate from the vet for $3200.00 for biopsy charge. I do worry about the result of biopsy. If the result is not what I expect the vet bill for surgery, hospital stay and medical treatments will be a huge number. As pre-existing condition the insurance company does not cover it.
I live in San Francisco Bay Area, everything is expensive. One of my cats passed away on this Feb. I still remember I used to receive an one-day bill for $6800.00, 4~5 day emergency bill (surgery plus hospital stay) is $12,000.00 ! It is not the final bill even! I paid off all the bills by myself for that cat.
My oldest cat used to be a missing cat. I adopted him at Christmas eve 13 years ago. Another two cats used to be street cats. They have been my family for 13 years now. My cats are more important for me than anything else in my life. I can lost all my money, but I can not lost my cats!
The youngest cat, 13 years old, got eye problem also. She need take eye pressure exam regularly. The doctor told me that the worse situation is to remove one of her eyes in order to save her life. I bless for her everyday.Hopefully she is lucky. She is the most beautiful one among three cats. The insurance company also does not cover the bill.
