I have a four year old short hair tortie named Millie who we rescued several years ago from the brink of death from owners who didn't take care of her. I also have a two year old tuxedo named Lucy who we got from the local humane society. I have such a soft spot in my heart for animals.
I have two cats and a dog. My little angel, Coal is the namesake of my shop and pictured in my avitar. She has two brothers, Tigger (feline) and Bobby (canine). They pretty much rule the house and our lives!
On the business side, I make pendants out of upcycled spoons. I also have an assortment of vintage items for sale.
Hi all: I have lived with cats all of my life and have owned up to 10. I currently have 8. Rover and Spot, orange tabby and black. Little neighborhood brothers. Tommie, also born on a neighbor's back porch. Beezer, born across the street. Sibley, a former neighborhood feral who's still learning how to be a cat. Purrcey, a talkative bossy orange tabby and white, abandoned in a parking lot. Ranger, a long-hair Katrina rescue and fatty. Bertie, a giant orange tabby with a floofy tail, born in a trailer park. They are all boys and are all bad.
Welcome all!!! I love these cat stories. Cannot wait until I'm able to rescue more!
In addition to my callie, I have a male Veiltail betta fish named Theo (after the amazing Dr. Seuss). I'm surprised he's hung around as long as he has; some nights I wake up to Joon's paws in his tank trying to catch a live midnight snack!
Hi, I'm Cat and I'm from Wales. My two rescue cats have been with me for two years. They were returned to the rescue centre twice. Not hard to believe when you know just how destructive they are. They're also affectionate and love nothing better than to curl up on laps - after tearing up the carpets! I call them Dizzy and Posie. They don't respond but then I guess they've had many names in the past. The words, food, sweeties, mice and bed usually get them running my way!
hello - i miss my persian who died this past summer - am allergic so don't think my lungs will be happy if i get another cat - but i want a cat!!!!!! - am exploring the so called hypoallergenic cats - any comments?
Hello everyone. I have two cats that I call "the boys" and a house guest female whose name is butters. I am taking care of her while my son is overseas--his cat. They all fought like cats and dogs when she first moved in; now they all just tolerate each other. Maximus, the oldest, is tiny and wirey, and loves to help me with my crafting. This cat can pick up a button with his paw and hold it, and then flip,it up in the air. He is amazing! The other two make very good lap cats: fat, lazy, and purr a lot, but I wouldn't be without them!
I am new also and have a domestic short hair all black Burmese. Her name is Sofie and she is 2 years old, 3 in June. I love her with all my heart, she is so loving. In my profile pic she is sitting in my son's baby swing, She loves it and will sit in it for hours, no lie. She is a one-of-a-kind for sure :)
Lucky is our oldest. she will be 9 in july.she was thrown from a moving car as a tiny kitten.so tiny i fed her with a syringe.she lost one eye due to hitting the pavement.she is a black bombay. then theres Baxter..my favorite. he is 3 years old. he is a mostly white turkish van. and we have Cass she is a 2 year old gray tabby. all are rescues. we lost our beloved Pepper in 2008. he was an egyptian mau and could say Mama. i promise its true. i still miss him. he weighed almost 25 pounds and lost down to barely 4 pounds.it took us 6 months,4 vets and almost 3 thousand dollars to finally get a diagnosis. he had FIP. i am so glad to be among cat lovers!
Hey everyone! Welcome! Thanks for taking the time to come say hi :)
@PetCollage - I really don't know much about hypoallergenic cats, but I'd say it's definitely worth looking into! I can't imagine my life without my kitties, and I'm sure most ppl in this team feel the same way! Good luck with your search and please keep us posted :)
@Sue - My jaw dropped to hear of your kitty's story and how cruel people can be! She is sure lucky to have you. I had a b&w tuxedo named Pepper growing up, but my beloved was my calico Izzy. After 18 years, we just lost her to kidney disease this past May. :( I think of her all the time.
Where would we be without our amazing cats!? That's something I don't even want to think about ;)
Hi, my name is Lisa and I don't currently have any pets (unless my husband counts). We had to put Trouble our calico cat to sleep a couple years ago. She was diagnosed with bladder cancer and the vet originally said she would only live 6 months. She went through several surgeries and after almost 5 years we had to make the very painful decision to put her to sleep. Making that decision as to when it was time was the hardest decision we've ever had to make and I think that's why we haven't gotten another cat since. My neighbors cats come visit all of the time but most don't let me pet them although I keep trying.
Hi I am new. I have two cats. One I found in my parents barn when he was just a few days old. I bottle fed him for weeks- I was in high school so during the school day I had to find cat-lover baby sitters to take over. His name is Simba and he is now two years old. My other cat Reagan I rescued from an abusive household. She was not friendly at all when we first brought her home, but now she lays with me on the couch!
Hi! Just joined the great team. I loooove cats! At one time I had 5. Ok, a little obsessive, but they kept showing up. Now I am down to one, Stewart. He leads a great life of lounging in the sun, yummy snacks, and lots of love. He is black with lavender eyes.
Hope to hear some great cat adventures and see what other cat lovers are creating.
Lisa, I know that feeling of losing a loved pet and not wanting to go through it again. I have never had a cat live past 10 years old. During childhood, I lost several cats to unfortunate incidents--they were outside cats, but we loved them all the same. As an udult, I was going to have strictly house cats to keep them safe. I lost one, Tom pumpkin was his name, to diabetes. And then, some years later, armed with the knowledge of what diabetes does to a cat, I lost, Chester, a beautiful orange long hair, to cancer. But, with all my resolve never to have them again, they seem to keep creeping into the house. Just wanted to tell you that I know that feeling. It is just like losing a family member to me.
Hi This team looks like fun and I look forward to participating! I have 7 cats! Didn't expect to have so many, but we rescued 2 pregnant cats...each having 6 kittens! Found homes for some and kept the rest! All neutered and spayed! whew!
