Re: Get To Know Your Team!

hi!

I'm new, thanks for the invitation Caroline, I absolutely adore cats

I live with a rescued domestic short haired one (orange and white) and my two other kitties are Persian - Himalayas and the prissiest things on the land

When I told a friend, more than a decade ago that I was going to get a cat, he told me that it would change my life, in fact they did.

And on a non-cat level, I make embroidery art and I paint every day. All art interests me: from clothing and accessories to installations and happenings.

Nice meeting you all!

xo

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hi everyone

I have six cats of my own, including a slightly disabled cat with a noddy head (she has mild cerebellar hypoplasia). I also foster for Cats Protection, a UK cat charity. At the moment we have 3 semi feral kittens, though one of them is going to a new home tomorrow :-)

Apart from that I love sewing and cross stitch, and love trying new crafts!

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

I have seven cats, the latest we found living in a cemetery. I support and promote many cat and animal groups in my area and online. I love animals, I especially adore cats and I feel so bad for the ferals they have a tough life out there just trying to survive against all odds.

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hi everyone!! Thanks for your posts :)

I'm Caroline, and I've owned cats since I was 6 years old. I currently only have 1 calico named Juniper (aka Joon). I plan to adopt more some day when I have more time and don't have to answer to a landlord ;)

By day I'm a teacher; working towards a career in Early Childhood Special Education. I get a lot of my inspiration from my students (plus, I'm a huge kid at heart). I love whimsy, bright colors and the paranormal. I also enjoy finding out what makes the human mind tick. ;)

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Thanks, so much, for the invitation, to the team. That's our ruler, on your left. His name is Stinky. No, he doesn't smell, that's the name he was blessed with when my husband and I adopted him. He answered to it, and in trying not to traumatize him any further, we left it alone. Poor little guy was a dump kitty.

He actually rescued us. Don't know what we did without him. He has brought us so much joy, and love and has blessed our lives in so many ways.

I have a mostly vintage shop, but sometimes, I do get a chance to add some handmade. Stop by and take a peek. :)

Thanks again and God Bless,

Dee-Dee and Stinky

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hi everybody, and thankies for the invite! :)

My name's Jonnie, and I'm an animal lover, jewelry maker,
& collector of vintage awesomeness.

My 3 cats are my crafting sidekicks, and I've got some really unique bead mixes thanks to their knocking jars of beads over, lol!
Franky (Short hair tux) Shadow (Russian blue) & Bitsy (long hair Tortie) are
their names, and they're all former ferals. The baby of the house is my dog Rattler (a 1 yr old Am Staffy) and how they all get along beats me, but they
do, so I'm glad. :)

When I'm not on Etsy (which isn't very often) I can be found here:

I guess that's it for now, and I look forward to getting to know the team a little better! (^__^)

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hi, Thanks for the invite. I am an animal lover, having grown up on a dairy farm, have always been around all kinds of critters. I have one cat, Lily, who is a white shorthair with black spots. She is very sweet. Also have a spoiled dog named Chuey who is a chihuahua and Jack Russel mix. To top that off I am currently caring for my two "grand-dogs", which are Siberian Huskies. They are great with Lily, even though she prefers to stay up in high places to keep away from them as much as possible. I have two Etsy shops, Peakview Creations and Crochet by CJT.

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the team as well. I live in Connecticut and have a rescue cat. She's 10, and sweet like a kitten. It did not take her long to learn that she is the boss in her new home. I bow to the Queen! :D

She has brought so much laughter and happiness to my quiet home. Every now and then during the day you can hear her thundering through the house. Her past home was with a hoarder so playing and running were out her whole life until now.

It's interesting to start with an older cat (I've always started with kittens). The first six months have been about learning to communicate with her. I have a feeling she has been locked in rooms or closets for long periods of time (accidentally). She has a fixation on closed doors. She'll stare at them, waiting until they are opened again... Also, she paces and worries over her water sources.

Anyway, she's adorable and I love her. She's a perfect match to my family.

Best to everyone! Jane

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks so much for the invite. This is the perfect team for me as I can talk cat all the time, if allowed. lol I currently only have one kitty, a tuxedo cat extraordinaire named Buggy. She rules my world! At 13yrs old, she has her routines which must be followed perfectly each day or we hear about it. ;-) I've had cats all my life and can't imagine a home being a home without a furry bundle of joy!

All my creations for my shop are inspired by my love of animals and nature. I donate 10% of all my sales to the Vancouver Humane Society, a charity dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. They expose animal abuse and encourage individuals, organizations, and governments to take responsibility for the welfare of animals. A truly great charity!

If I'm not on here, you will most likely find me on FB:

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hello team! I'm Jenny and I have two kitties who love to help me make my jewelry:) I have never gone to look for pets, they just seem to come along at the right time...Nigel (now 12) I found walking in the middle of a very busy road, traffic was stopped in both directions, everyone was honking their horns, and he was not phased...I got out of my car and brought him home, and after bringing him to the vet found out he's deaf! He's the best cat I've ever had (and I'd have to say he's prob my best friend!) He now has a little 'sister' too. I work at the mall and over the summer found a little kitty living under the dumpster. She was so afraid of everything and no one could catch her...I brought her food and water everyday and after about a month I finally gained her trust and brought her home. She is the sweetest little thing and I love her oh so much!! My cats are like my children:) So glad to find a team of fellow car lovers!!

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hi everyone! Love seeing all of these new faces & reading these cute stories. Are you new? Come say hi!

My first cat, Izzy, lived to be 18 years old. It hasn't even been a year since I last saw her face, and I miss her every day. Today more so than usual.

When Joon and I wake up in the morning, we walk over to Izzy's little table/shrine, and say good morning. To be honest, Izzy would have hated Joon hehe... but if not for my wonderful years with Izzy, my little Joonie wouldn't be here harassing me every day in the cute ways that she does. :)

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hi everyone, I'm a mad cat lady from Bournemouth, UK. I have three cats, a big, fat, cuddly black & white fluffy called George, who is very greedy and beautiful, but not very bright, and two lovely lady tortoiseshells who like to stick together. My oldest cat loves to watch t.v., particularly wildlife programmes, especially anything with meerkats or birds, my youngest lady is very timid and likes to hide in the wardrobe to sleep, and of course George just loves to be loved and to eat, lots and lots and lots.

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hi there! I love cats. My first word was "beow" (a baby attempt at "meow"). I had a beautiful medium-hair tortiseshell calico up until a year ago when she passed away. I currently have a little grey kitty named Cloudy who is goofy and sweet. I am looking forward to participating in this group!

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Hi everyone!

I love cats! I currently have a tortie cat named Nina. Though I call her "Squirmy Wormy" because she rolls around on the floor like a worm. I had a tubby black cat named Spooky (which I used to call "Furry Beastly") and her shape was the inspiration behind my pincushions. She unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago. Though I'm about to get my sister's cat, so I guess I'll have 2 soon.

Thanks for the invite! This seems like an awesome group to be a part of!

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Thank you, Caroline, for the invite. Hello everyone!

My hubby and I are owned by (don't gasp please) 11 cats. Psst.. did she just say 11 cats???!!! Yes :-) Each of them rescues and 3 with special needs. Our Billy, has leukemia and aids. He's been us with 12 years. He's solid white and very handsome.

We have a 2 tabby girls. Dixie and Allie Oop. A tuxedo named Buddy, a tortie named Lila Jean and 2 black/whites, Bailey and Junior. Then there's our solid gray, Grayson and our solid black, Casey. And Tipper who is gray/white and Gordon who is white/gray. Each are funny, sweet, demanding, wonderful, naughty and deeply loved by us.

We think of our cats as our kids. They bring joy to us each day and we feel so blessed they came into our life.

I also TNR in our neighborhood and manage an abandoned colony of 10. Well, 8 now, I've been able to get 1 adopted and 1 adopted herself out. LOL!

When not caring for all of the kids, I paint, make greeting cards and other paper crafts, and garden. I have a blog http://sissysplacepaperie.blogspot.com/ in addition to my Etsy shop, SissysPlace which is actually named for my beloved Miss Buford, whose nickname was Sissy.

My avatar is Miss Buford. She was my little bright light, my dearest friend, my heart's joy. She lost her battle with cancer 8 years ago, yet I miss her each day as if she just left. I always wish I had just one more day with her.

Sorry this is so long. I'll hit my off button now!

Re: Get To Know Your Team!

Thanks for the invitation!

Presently I have 4 cats, all rescue cats. Louie is 18 and deaf. He always spent most of his time in the bedroom until about a year ago. Then he suddenly became THE social butterfly. I thought uh-oh, maybe he's dying or something. But he's still around. I think it was because he was finally totally deaf, and needed to see what was going on. Big cat is 9. Found him outside all beat up. Seems he was totally declawed and couldn't defend himself. Jack was in the road missing most of his tail and very small. He is huge now. And Stash is the fat one. He was sitting along the side of the road, so small and sick I felt sorry for him. A couple hundred $s
in vet bills to get him healthy. They are all black and white and all whiners!

So I do love cats. (and had 11 at one time too!)

Looking forward to meeting you all!
