Four months ago I didn't "get" twitter. It was confusing and tweeting seemed narcissistic. NOW, it's my best friend. I've become a narcissist! Ha ha no not really. I just did the # thing and searched #cardmaking....that way I found other people who were interested in card making. I know if I tweet about the card I just made. The card makers of the world will care and want to know more!
Tip one:
After you post a new card or digi stamp, whatever you make, tweet about it. Only tweet something funny or interesting. I just posted a jellyfish card on my blog. So I tweet, "Jellyfish attack! I cut my finger while cutting out the jellyfish." People will wonder what the heck? They may be curious to read more. People love a behind the scenes information. In the blog post they will see the X-acto knife I used to cut out the jellyfish collage. I'm not good with sharp things. If I was selling the card on Etsy I would hash tag jellyfish so the jellyfish lovers of the world will see the jellyfish card.
So rather than being obvious, "My new cat card on Etsy." write, "Crazy Cat Scratch Fever." Something creative and fun.
Tip two:
Tweet everyday. Don't tweet about your new card on Etsy every time. Instead re-tweet what others are up to in the card making world. Comment on peoples tweets. Interact so people will see you a lot and recognize you.
