My absence from Etsy

Hello to all of you!
I started this group, and making steel artwork, as a way to meet new people, share my creative visions, donate art, and the money from art sales, to cancer research and, with any luck, spread some hope to those who need it. I have not forgotten about this team but, unfortunately, I have had to stop working on metal art. I started working on a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering , but I have had to stop going to school as well. I am still working as an unpaid intern on a project for Los Alamos National Labs, but that is literally all I can handle physically. To combat my Grpft Vs Host Disease I have been on large doses of immunosuppressants and doing photopheresis for most of this year. In the last 6 months I have been diagnosed with extensive skin cancer (two different types) and pre cancer, as well as, two septic staff infections that nearly took my life. I feel awful that I have stopped working with this team, but I am inspired by everyone who continues to post on this team's wall. Even though I plan to start being more involved in the team I really encourage all of you to continue to post and share hope through this group. I feel totally blessed that I am still here today. I, and I am sure many of you, have a great deal to be thankful for this thanksgiving. I want to wish you all a happy thanksgiving.

Evan

Re: My absence from Etsy

Evan, I don't know when you will see this, but I haven't been checking with my teams for awhile as I have nothing in my store because I'm in big, big design mode. Wow, is all I can say. I had no idea. But I love that you continue to fight on. I saw Dr. Giudice the other day for my annual, and I fought the urge to say/ask about you to him. I hope, at least locally, you might still be with him. I do know he truly wants survivor outcomes for all of his patients. You do what you need to do, Evan. Don't worry about the team at all. But I'm glad you let us know what was going on. So now, 3 months farther on from your post, I really hope you are doing a bit better. Since I read this post and with those annuals (again, done) for me, I think about you with great concern and great love for you and a positive outcome that will allow you to continue your life and pursue your dreams all the time.
