Hi everyone - needing support

I am new to this group, and new to cancer. I was diagnosed with stage 2b/3 breast cancer on August 3rd. Tomorrow is my second chemotherapy infusion and I am up late on steroids worrying:-( I should be making art, but my energy seems all wacky.
It has been tough- especially with two little kids (3 and 6). My birthday was last week- and I lost all of my hair two days later. Tough month so far. Hoping my infusion will go well with limited side effects. would love to hear from others how you got through this.
Cancer sucks.

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. You can and will get through it. I know it is easy to say and very difficult to do but staying positive is so very important.
I was diagnosed with Leioynosarcoma shortly after my 50th birthday. They removed an eight to nine pound tumor from my abdomen in February 2010. Then it was on to chemo and radiation. I lost all my hair too and it took me a while to realize that is is only hair.I did 16 rounds of chemo along with the steroids and a particularily nasty injection of Nulasta. it was for my white cell count. It damaged my knees. 25 rounds of radiation followed.
It was a tough haul but I am hear to tell the tale.
Just go with it, if you feel lousy rest, if you feel like dancing dance!
Keep strong and never, never give up!
You can convo me anytime for a shoulder to lean on.

Thanks Cathy. Chemo was okay today. I am getting my neulasta shot tomorrow. It is my second round. Sometimes, everything just feels so overwhelming. I appreciate hearing from people who have made it through to the other side! Thanks!

I cannot image having to deal with chemo and look after two small children. I hope that you have a support system that can give you a hand. I got really lucky my daughter and SIL live with us. He lost his job while I was sick so was a big help to me when he was off.
Remember to rest and relax whenever you can.
How many infusions will you be receiving?
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong ((hugs))

Hi, I too am sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Stay positive and you will get through this. Fill your time with loved ones and things you enjoy and rest when you are tired and stay well hydrated (this is very important after chemo). A year ago, my mom was diagnosed with uterine cancer, had a radical hysterectomy, chemo and radiation. This was a difficult time for her and our family, but a year later, she is doing well. She lost her hair so she wore a wig when she went out. Her hair grew back even more beautiful after the chemo treatments stopped and so will yours!

Cancer does suck, but you will beat it! I will pray for your speedy recovery! God Bless You!

Hi I am a team member and would like to ask everyone here for prayers. My 6 year old son was just diagnosed with lyphatic luekemia last week, I am trying to raise donations for our 2 hour drives to UCLA hospital so he can be treated.
