I do offer local pick up, and if someone is interested in doing that then I either edit the listing to show $0.00 for shipping, or refund the shipping charges. (Depending on if they contact me before or after their purchase.)
But most of the time, once I give them a comparison for the local ship cost versus their time and fuel costs, they usually opt to have things shipped.
