Drastic drop in views & sales from the USA in November

Has anyone else noticed this. I've been very pleased with my slow & steady growth since I opened in 2013. I now seem to have hit a brick wall. When checking where I am in search, my items are on the first 10 pages. 2014 Nov. 1-8, views were 1046 of which 695 were from US. This year as of today, so Nov. 1-8 900 views, only 400 from the US.

But I have seen posts from others dealing with the same thing as you, not sure what the reason is?
Hoping Etsy is not testing their localization idea on Canadians, that would be a disaster.

That is my fear toysofthepast. I'm going to try & get a US counterpart to search for my items from the US & see where I show up on their search pages. I've always been somewhere on the first few pages, but to be in every page for the first 12 is odd to me. 90% of my sales are from the US so localization would be a disaster for me.😕

Exact same here, consistent growth since opening in 2013, and in the last two weeks I feel like I hit some sort of wall, although sales patterns were changing for about a month prior - they started happening in"waves", rather than consistently. I am seeing big drops both in views and sales, from the US. , although sales are more heavily impacted.

I have noticed a big drop in views since the Category changes a few months ago. I think I am now hard to find (greeting cards). :(
Also, has anyone changed over the integrated PayPal? Are you having any problems with it?

I really don't understand what is going on. Last Nov. I had sales daily. This year 1 small one over a week ago. I've done everything the new search says is required. I show up on first few search pages. I'm using Facebook this year, did not last year & I was paying for promoted listings, which I have stopped because of lack of sales & views. Keeping fingers crossed that things will pick up soon.

I notice a big drop in us sales also. I sell jewelry supplies and there is very heavy competition in this category. But i have notice a larger increase in my canadian sales. So I may start to concentrate on my canadian buyers.

Same here, but since mid-October for me. I hope with black friday and cyber monday on their way, I will have more success!

I know Etsy is insisting they are not doing localization tests in US or Canada, but I find 2 things rather odd. In recent days, my views have skyrocketed from Canada. I've never had more views from Canada than the US. Yesterday my views from Canada were more than double those from US. Second, most of my meager sales have been from States close to Ont. border & 1 from Canada. I find this odd because most sales previously had been from all over US, predominately from FL, CA.

I've noticed some weird trends as well and I am deinitely getting more views and sales rom Canadians lately.

I feel that one problem is the cost of Canada Post, when it costs a minimum of $5 to send from Canada what is only about $2 in the US.

USPS offers package tracking as standard, I am told by customers, where CP will charge $10!

It makes it very difficult to compete.

Right now, it doesn't really make a difference with the currency (about .71 CAD for a USD dollar), if your shop is in CAD of course.
