Shipping Tubes

I've been reading through a ton of the threads and pretty much have the concept of CS down, but have no clue on how to work the system to make multiple items fit into my shipping tubes. I sell specialty paper that I roll up and mail in a shipping tube and can fit up to 13 rolled up sheets in a tube, but since CS calculates the dimension under 1 inch as 1 inch, I would have to make my tubes dimensions be far bigger than they really are. Do you think that this would be a red flag to my customers? Also, my sheets of paper only weigh 1.625 ounces and the tube weighs 4.125 ounces. If I put that the weight is 6 ounces it will add 6 ounces for every additional item. I also don't want to drop the weight too low because I anticipate getting a variety of customers that want anywhere from 1 sheet to 13+. I so wish that CS had a weight option when adding in your custom box size so that it knows what the box weighs and then can add the item weight to that.

Re: Shipping Tubes

Christina, tubes are definitely tricky. Honestly, I don't know anyone who uses tubes and CS.

Right now, with the limitations of fractions under 1 inch, it is a real problem for your items.

My best advice to you would be to contact support directly and ask them if they have a suggestion.

Put something like Calculated Shipping Problem as the subject line.

Re: Shipping Tubes

I ship exclusively with tubes as well... I am also trying to figure out what to do with this as well as the HUGE discrepancy between shipping to states near you vs Far from you. The weight fluctuation within 1 listing due to size options in our shop makes CS nearly impossible when you can't tie a weight to a size choice. GAA!

Re: Shipping Tubes

Empressive, I can only reiterate what I said above, contact support directly for suggestions on tube shipping.

As to the variations thing - I answered you in the other thread.

Probably the only way around it at this time is to add the extra shipping cost into the larger item sizes.
