Setting up for Flat Rates & Regional Rates

Can you direct me to a link that explains clearly how to add Flat Rates and Regional Rates to Calculated Shipping choices? Please and thank you!

Re: Setting up for Flat Rates & Regional Rates

You do this on package preferences.
You have to scroll down on the shipping profile page.
This is the same place you enter custom box sizes.

Also please note that just because you have these boxes added does NOT mean the calculator will pick one of them.

The buyer's will only see the cheapest Priority option which might be one of the flat rate boxes, a regional box or regular Priority.

The type of box/Priority will be noted on your order page on the items.

Also if you use any of the flat rate envelopes and you can get more than 1 item in them, you need to put more than 1" height for the mailer height.

If you can get 2 items put 2" for the mailer height (you'd need to put 1" or less for the item height, the calculator does not read fractions "under" 1".
So if you put .5", it's going to be figured at a 1" height.

Re: Setting up for Flat Rates & Regional Rates

Just one note - the regional and flat rate boxes are in a drop down menu in Package Preferences - you must pick them from there - you don't just enter the sizes yourself.

I use regional and flat rate a lot with my items - but I also have other box sizes listed as custom boxes in package preferences. The calculator always selects the best option for my buyers - sometimes regular priority, sometimes a regional box and sometimes a flat rate depending on the zip code of the buyer. It's wonderful.

Re: Setting up for Flat Rates & Regional Rates

Thank you Kathy!

Everything I've experienced with CS so far has been wonderful.

(Except the part about how long it takes to change a whole shop of odds and ends sizes and weights items over to CS lol).

I know it'll pay off with more sales once buyers see lower shipping rates for their zip. And CS is opening up the international sales door for me too, which I think is also wonderful!

After I finish converting my whole shop to CS I'll be adding more items, of which all will have shipping profiles and CS right from their start. Right now adding anything to my shop is out of the question, and on hold until I catch up converting everything to CS.

Make no mistake, its a huge job converting an entire vintage shop with items of various shapes and sizes, but I do believe this is the right thing to do and it'll be a great benefit going forward!
