Hello anybody? (echo)
For me, calculated shipping has now disappeared from the old version of creating a listing,
and doesn't exist yet in the new one.
The only shipping options are as before: fixed rate or free.
No one from Etsy has been able to help me, or tell me why this is...for days.
It's very basic, does Etsy offer calculated shipping to sellers or not?
If it's not showing up as an option anymore, I guess the answer is no,
OR
this new listing format has caused a CF that no one can fix.
Am I alone in this?
You are not alone. I came unstuck with the new system too.
Here is what I think..we do not have to weigh items now due to new Ground
advantage which allows up to 70 pounds I think! Some research is needed.
So we do not need to weight items anymore. I am slow to adapt to change so
it really threw me. But we save on insurance as 100 dollars is included free, and it should make our shipping cheaper
and our customers costs as well. But as I said more research is needed. I am sure they told us
I may well have missed it. So no more weighing I think...just set a price...or offer free ship which means
asking more for the item to compensate the loss. I hope this helps.. a bit
If you select Fixed Shipping on a new profile and save it, you cannot go back to calculated shipping for that profile, and will have to create a new profile to enable Calculated Shipping. Something else I had to figure out by trial and error is that the shipping manager will not automatically select a package for you if you are using Fixed/Free Shipping. This feature only works with Calculated Shipping.
Note: As of when I'm typing this, Etsy has not gotten on board with Calculated Shipping for USPS Ground Advantage. If you want to use Ground Advantage, you must select Fixed in a *new* the Shipping Profile, but then none of your shipments will be able to take advantage of Calculated Shipping. You can, however, select USPS Parcel Select Ground, if you click on Edit next to Shipping Services, and then scroll down and click on Advanced Shipping Services. There is no insurance option for Parcel Select Ground.
I am having the same issues and it's quite frustrating. Why would something so valuable and helpful be taken away with an update that is supposed to offer better features.
