I saw your inquiry Hirjalda Mobley from sofisticata about selling on pinterest.
There are two official ways to sell on Pinterest.
1. Promoted Pins. They have traffic campaigns and engagement campaigns. I do both. It is kind if expensive and I am watching the data comparing it to advertising on Facebook, which I do as well.
2.Buyable pins. These are in beta and for Shopify stores that have been approved. There is talk that it may open up to etsy and perhaps ebay some day. I have buyable pins as well. This is through my Shopify website. They are pretty cool, but only visible to a small amount of people right now. They will be great. I have already had a nice sale from them.
And of course Etsy has rich pins so every pin that you generate has a chance of selling.
Pinterest has changed their search algorithm again and it is not advantageous to pin like crazy. It is best to pin your item once and have that pin travel via re-pins.
Perhaps Connie will create a thread here where we can post a pin and then re-pin 5 above us or something link that. We also should be visiting the group board and randomly re-pinning for each other. Re-pins go into the feed because the algorithm picks it up as popular. I have a board for each store and when I write a listing, I pin to my store board. Then I re-pin that item to group boards through the next few days. Re-pins are essential.
The number one, most important factor with pinterest is beautiful photography. I think everyone using our group board has that issue wired.
Here is a link to a PDF guide on what kinds of pins that the search engine favors. They like portrait orientation better than landscape for example.

Happy pinning teamies!
